I am planning to buy Anivia despite the nerf. Is this stupid Y/Y?
Well the nerf doesn't completely make her unplayable. It just makes her harass early game difficult and mana consuming. Also her farming capabilities early game are going to be hit hard.
I have played her a lot and she is a lot of fun. Her skills are very cool and work well when you get them off properly. But she is definitely one of the most difficult champions to play.
I can tell you whether or not she's viable after playing her since the nerfs.

They only took a dump on one thing:
Her ability to go lololololol ult for 1 sec to e in lane
It now costs something.
In team fights she's pretty much the same.

I am very curious to see how the change to her ult will affect her mana. It seems like they lowered the cost per second but really beefed up the initial cost for turning it on. My guess would be that Anivia players are going to need to think more about whether to use their ult or not instead of just turning it on for every situation. Especially since they nerfed the slow on it.

(I haven't bought a dime worth of RP from them and don't intend to)
Bingo.
I'm willing to bet there's a direct correlation between the amount of complaining one does and the amount of money they've spent on the game.
I'll save the armchair psychotherapy for another day, but suffice it to say that (hopefully) one day you'll have that epiphany where you realize that the world doesn't owe you anything.
you mean inverse
and also I've spent 40 dollars on this game and I'm still p pissed that the fucking servers are a instable as a house of fucking cards
Yeah I've spent a fair amount of cash on Riot, only because I believe in supporting studios that I feel offer Good Shit™.
And I'm super patient on days like this only because I know that unforeseen crap happens all the time. It takes years to iron out all the random crap and come up with in-house infrastructure to alleviate the slippage on maintenance times, which costs money, lots of money.
If by "unstable as a house of cards" you mean "28 days out of 30 every single month I can log in trouble free at any time 24 hours a day" then we're in complete agreement.
And yes, I meant inverse correlation.

i am so mad rite now
THESE RIOT SONS OF BITCHES ARE KEEPING KANYE FROM HIS GAME
I'm not that angry about instability. For the most part it works great. Sure a few days it goes to complete shit, but for as popular as this game is I'm really not that suprised. A lot of people play LoL. It has been getting better slowly, just give it time. Eventually they will figure a way to quickly deploy a patch to every computer on their server farm that is capable of serving a million users quickly, until then I don't mind the wait.

no i mean servers for actually playing the game
every other day I experience severe, game breaking lag and at least once a week i get kicked out of a game
my only leave is a game i was kicked from that i was subsequently not able to reconnect to
When people use the word "Fucking" and italicize their words it is usually taken as an emphasis on their statement in the form of anger.
If you aren't angry, good! Your statements are still absurd. I don't think I mentioned them owing you anything, but you may be typing that in response to someone else as I know others did make such a statement.
If you like to phrase your sentences with the word fuck in normal conversation without being upset then I retract my statement that you may be upset. However my overarching point is that your expectations of deadlines in video games and what it takes to implement a patch seem to be a bit skewed.
I'm quite used to the gaming industry's annual dumping of pink slips onto their employees due to the under performance of business, and we've all seen the rapid bloating of Activision under the leadership of someone who isn't into games at all but knows the fundamentals of effective business strategy very well. If you don't think it's important for Riot to be able to set realistic targets for themselves & meet those targets, fine, but I think it'll hurt them.

pisses me off actually
You realize that's almost entirely going to be an issue on your end?
The only people I know who experience "severe, game breaking lag" are the ones who have issues with their own ISP or their router or whatever.
The game is quite stable.
You might want to look into what's causing your troubles, because I'm pretty sure it's not Riot you should be upset with.

I didn't say they did owe me anything, simon. And for that matter, I haven't said a word prior to today about Riot's inability to meet their own deadlines.

But gee, thanks.
You acted like they did.
Not to mention, who cares, we're all up in each others' dicks cause we all want to be playing. Everyone just copes with frustration differently.
And don't gee thanks me, buddy. You've played with me enough to know I'm a douche. But I have a heart of gold. True story.

No more do I have a list of infinity runes. I have a list of runes that say x9 next to them.
I don't give a fuck what people say, Riot is awesome.
Its amazing how lifelike some of these new games are.
