I recently procured a capture device, so I'm working on a means to capture better quality(and not buggy) images, so give it time. I do appreciate the support though.

Uh, so I had to decide whether I wanted to abandon this and start something new or stay the course.
I decided on the latter, but I had to switch methods. This is from a direct capture video, so if the quality is too horrible, I'll try to make it higher quality next time.
I prefer larger scale images, myself.
Tell me what you think.
The Story So Far!
Part 5 in the works.
Also, if there's any interest, I can record the voice acting of the journals. All of them are dubbed.

Part 5: Lunatic Waltz
Been a while, hasn't it? But the journey's only just begun. (Disclaimer: I used a lower quality recording method as a test.
Future updates will have higher quality images, apologies in advance.)
Oh, thank goodness you're not a monster! You scared the living daylights out of me!
This is the village of Polizu. Everyone is scared stiff because of the monster attacks.
The locals are jumpy!
It chills me to the bone... hideous monsters have been invading our village,
and we are powerless to stop them.
Everyone's got issues.
It makes me very uneasy. Is this land in danger?
Possibly. Let's chat with the townsfolk!
I'm the head security guard, so watch it.
But no one's catching anything these days... I wonder what's going on up there.
It's just to the north of here. I wouldn't go near there if I were you.
Yes, there is still a ridiculous amount of dialogue used just for examining random objects.
If I had captured it all, this update would be three times as long.
I can't sleep until I've written in mine. It's a habit I'll never grow out of.
Fortunately, ours are set to auto.
Rarely does he ever come out, so I haven't seen much of him.
Strange, isn't it?
Very. Let's meet him!
Or not.
Even in Cefiro; men can't cook.
Oh hell.
Are you having a good time?
Not suspicious at all!
Fortune telling, not really helpful at this point in the game. (If ever.)
Costly, too.
Of course.
What about this local sage everyone's nuts over?
The only one who's nuts is him.
The villages love me because I created a special barrier to keep the monsters away, but...
Monsters have managed to get past my barrier, and now my reputation is in jeopardy.
See, even his wife knows it.
A neat item shop, also too pricey.
(I'm cheap, sue me.)
Can't get over there just yet... hopefully later.
Meanwhile, in the Mayor's crib...
Monsters from the Tempting Cave have been attacking our village, and we are defenseless.
The legend says that when Cefiro is in danger, three Magic Knights would show up...
I'm not one for legends, but oh do I wish this one would come true.
If these three Magic Knights were to suddenly appear, what would you ask of them?
Hmm... well, the Magic Knights are said to be quite skilled in the ways of sorcery.
So I would ask them to create a new barrier, even stronger than Lukino's, to protect us.
I'm sorry, but we haven't yet learned any magic that could create such a barrier.
Hikaru!
What did you just say? Wait a minute... there ARE three of you... No, it couldn't be!
We were sent forth by the High Priest Clef to save the land of Cefiro.
But, mere children? And you cannot create the barrier? Hmm...
We may not be able to create a barrier, but if you wish, we'll go to the cave and fight for you.
You... you would take that risk for us?
Hikaru! What're you saying!? We're supposed to be searching for those Machine things!
Precia told us that our next destination should be the Northern Sea... no?
Yes, but... I cannot leave here while these innocent people are in need of our help.
But we don't have a lot of time...
Now now, Umi.
Yes, it's important for us to seek the machines, but don't forget what Precia said.
For our weapons to grow into the keys that revive the machines, our wills must grow too.
Well, yes, that's true...
At this point, we don't really know how our weapons... and our very hearts... will grow...
But if we try to do good by helping out like this, we may come closer to finding out.
So do you think that this might be the way?
We've got nothing to lose by attempting to find out!
Ehh... so, what's the verdict?
We can't promise that we'll meet your expectations, but we'll certainly try our best!
Marvelous! Fear not, I've got faith in you girls!
The cave is located to the northwest of the village. Good luck, Magic Knights!
We'll need it.
I wonder what was so urgent?
Ominous.
That too.
T-the monsters all turned and ran back into that cave!
I'm not kidding!
Well, what do you say now?
Mosey on.
Inviting, no?
Do you really think they can do it?
One would think.
The BGM here is pretty rad, not what you'd expect.
The monsters here hit hard, so using Hikaru and Umi's close range attacks isn't too bright.
Some heals.
Not going that way...
These guys teleport around, but they go down easy.
Treasure! No colored gems, unfortunately.
Looks like there's some interference.
We send him packing.
Tricky tunnels.
I had a lucky guess. (Really, I picked #4 first.)
And off he goes again.
The puzzles here are pretty simple for the most part.
But this is only the first real dungeon, it'll get worse.
Hmm.
Take that ball, for example. It looks like something that might be mildly fun and entertaining.
But I know that it is actually a fearsome steel ball of rolling death!
Now you will learn that unfortunate truth firsthand! Run! Run, COWARDS!
What a dick.
Turnabout justice.
And he's gone again.
More beasties, easily disposed of.
Listen up! Hasn't anyone ever told you three to respect the wishes of your elders!?
I warned you before, but now I'm COMMANDING you! Do NOT advance beyond this point!
What's he up to now?
Not much of a threat.
At all.
Whoops.
Sadly, he's not done yet.
But neither are we!
A little tricky, just a jumping puzzle.
Guess someone was thirsty.
Burrrp... whoo-haa! Time to make a little fountain of my own...
Please, do it off screen.
In bouncing away, he complies for once.
Get bonus!
Probably the trickiest part of the dungeon.
Have to wait for the platform and land on it.
This is getting old. Hilariously pathetic, but old.
Check out THIS magic! I think you'll find it's a BLAST! Ha haaa!
Sadly, no way around him, not even by shooting him. (I sure tried.)
Plan B.
You will now command the "Green Squall".
It will summon fierce winds with which your enemies may be tossed about.
Sweet, let's try that.
Bye now.
I don't need your help! I have the situation in this cave totally under control!
Right.
Seconds later...
So much for that.
One side, slacker.
Never send a man to do a girl's job. Uh, something like that.
So it's up to the trio!
Naturally, sealed in on arrival.
It is pretty nasty looking.
Obvious weak spot.
Beyond that, just a matter of patience and bullet dodging. (I may upload the fight if there's any interest, took about 8 minutes.)
Boom.
And squish.
A little late, aren't you?
I made the barrier to protect the village, and was pampered for my efforts.
But when monsters started filtering into the village, my reputation suffered.
And then, YOU arrived! I felt threatened by all sides.
I knew if you defeated the beasts in here, my reputation would be crushed forever!
THAT'S why you've been such a royal pain in the butt?
With the legendary Magic Knights fighting for our village? Of course we waited!
You'll be relieved to know that the beasts are...
Wait, WHAT? O_o
For once, we agree.
This calls for a celebration! Everyone, escort Lukino to the village!
Well, that was pointless.
Hikaru, don't you think your lie will hurt Lukino in the end?
Well... I...
Hold on, Umi...
The important thing is that this lengthy ordeal is no longer on his conscience.
If he doesn't feel any shame about it, that's his concern, not ours.
Besides, with that reasoning, we can skirt the whole issue about white-lie morality.
(One of my favorite lines right there.)
Even so, up until now he's been protecting this village! He can't be all that bad!
Yeah, I guess you're right. I wonder if this good deed earned us any brownie points?
A new spell! I think.
Should've thought of that earlier, poindexter.
I just have to figure out why they were so nice to Lukino after what he did...
It has to be an act... They cannot be THAT sweet..
Wanna bet?
The town's all singing Lukino's praises now.
Why you little-!
Now Umi, we promised not to slaughter any juveniles today!
You're getting off light!
At least he's got some sense.
There are OTHER monsters in this world too!
True that.
Let's go kill them!

200MB a video file is nothing, and if it's far higher quality, go for it.
As for the current screen shots, it looks readable enough, if somewhat blurry.

Part 6: Off The Deep End
Decided to cut this one short since it's ready.
There's a special video to almost make up for it.
The town to the north, a colorful place.
Lately, nobody's been able to catch any fish, though.
It doesn't make any sense...
No relation to the wrapping paper.
The locals are a pessimistic bunch.
She's got this... this... THING for a pet...
Some kind of monster... it's gross!
There's an old legend that says a dragon rests beneath it...
There's only one way to find out! We have to make our way to that island.
Easier said than done, what with all the water in the way.
Right after that happened, Caltus left the village.
Hmm.
Could always learn!
The only person who MIGHT stand a single chance in hell of succeeding is gone.
His name was Caltus, and he disappeared a few weeks ago.
Sounds worth looking into.
No one's having any luck.
The view is nice, anyway. (The skyline is animated, as well.)
In unsurprising news, guess who's ALSO here?
Hello to you, too! We bump into each other quite a bit!
Are you also traveling?
Ye...yeah, you might say that.
Are you headed the same way we are? Maybe we can travel together!
Hikaru, we're on a quest to save the world here!
This trip involves great risk!
She's right, Hikaru... we can't be responsible for the safety of that kid.
Alright, alright... Oh well, sorry shorty!
Hope to see ya again sometime!
(Like I'd travel with them anyway!
And who's she calling shorty!?)
There isn't much to find at Caltus' place.
Just a mess.
Good cue to leave.
That might be a problem later.
No one thinks too highly of the girl.
Or her pet.
Maybe later; just another pricey healing shop. (No catchy theme music, either.)
Why can't they just accept him for the way he is?
His name is Jiminy? Look at him, he's...!
Absolutely adorable!
Well, thanks! This is the first time anyone's ever said a nice thing about him...
Handy in a pinch.
Not everyone hates Sera:
And not everyone's oblivious.
Better view of the skyline:
And we're off to find a fisherman.
I think we have a hint.
Just leave me alone. I've already given up on teaching others my technique.
Why did you quit being a fisherman and move to this village?
What makes you think I'm going to tell you that? It's not your business, is it?
We MUST cross the sea to get to the island of ice, and you're our only hope!
...
You don't want my help. I'm no good to anyone anymore.
I can't even save a lousy animal!
When a little girl's pet fell into the ocean and got caught up in the strong currents...
I dove into the water, confident I could save it, but I was moments too late...
The little girl went back empty-handed... I'll never forget her tear-filled eyes...
I've always bragged, but... I really don't swim that well. I'm a useless failure.
I've lost all confident in my ability. Just leave me...
Wait! The little girl you're talking about... is her name Sera?
How... how did you know?
I can't believe this! You are SO pathetic, Caltus!
Sera's already overcome her sorrow!
Despite the villagers treating her like an outcast, she's still moved on with her life!
But you... you're too busy wallowing in self-pity to get on with yours!
...
Come on, guys, let's get outta here.
But...
He's too busy sulking over his sorry butt. It's no use.
So much for that.
But... now what are we supposed to do?
If we don't get him to give us that swimming lesson, the island will remain out of our reach!
We... we'll find a way, we just have to think.
Unfortunately, I don't think there IS another solution...
Sure there is.
Back to the sea!
Shh!
Sera... have you been all right?
Ah, uh, well... sometimes I get sad, but Jiminy always helps me through it!
Jiminy... You mean, this...this monster?
Don't you dare call him that! Jiminy is Jiminy!
I found Jiminy lying on the beach, almost lifeless, so... I took him home with me.
He's as gentle as a kitten! He'd never do anything to hurt anybody!
I'm so sorry, Sera...
Oh, no, Caltus, I'm the one who should be apologizing...
When Syldra was drowning, you did your best to help.
I'm truly grateful for that. It's just, well...
I was both upset and angry at the time, and... I'm sorry I hit you.
I've been wanting to say that for a long time.
It wasn't until everyone started treating me badly that I realized how selfish I was.
I'm sorry, Caltus... and thank you...
Sera, I...
It's okay. Besides, now I have Jiminy, so I don't feel lonely anymore!
You really are quite special, Sera.
Uhh, hello! What a surprise!
I've decided to teach you! Let's go, before I change my mind!
Come again?
Not taking no for an answer!
Speaking of persistence,
Sheesh.
In they go!
They'll deal.
Or not.
Guess we know who their core audience was.
Alright, pay attention! This is how it's done!
Bishounen swim team go!
Super effective!
So that's where they got that website name from.
I can do that!
I still don't understand! This isn't going to work! Help!!!
I must say this is my favorite shojo from CLAMP, and that's saying a lot. Also, I only played the SNES version waay back then...so now you have tempted me.
This is a great LP, seeing saturn gems is pretty nice considering how annoying they are to get hold off.

On the plus side...
(Oh, Victor. )
Part 7's pending. Hopefully with a (slightly more) reliable host.

Part 7: Deus Ex Machina
Didn't do any videos this time since the interest doesn't seem to be there, but I may still go back and do some for the cutscenes.
(Also, the boss fight was stupidly easy.)
The ice cavern, second (real) dungeon in the game.
Still nothing major.
Swimming around some beasties,
And toasting some ice obstacles.
Treasure!
A couple simple puzzles, but I'm fine with that: I hate mind-numbing action RPG puzzles.
This looks familiar...
A mirror, here?
It is called "Flaming Shock".
Use it to unleash a shower of lightning from the heavens
upon your unfortunate enemies.
Let's put it to use!
Super effective.
I hate walking through traps like this.
This is where the new spell is required.
Toasted.
More pushy puzzles.
Which leads to a dead end.
And I do mean dead.
Well, move already!
Or not.
Oh, hi.
Huh?
It's coming from below!
Show me the power of your heart!
Is that dragon calling me?
That dragon is the machine, isn't it?
Clef!
Temporary shape...
Umi, this is your machine... Ceres.
My machine...
It is all but useless to fight for you at this time.
When you have completely awakened as a Magic Knight,
all of the Machines will revive completely.
For now, store it in your jewel until it is time.
But how can I put a giant machine into a jewel?
All that is necessary is to show that you are truly worthy of becoming a Magic Knight!
Clef, I don't...
(Earthquake!)
I believe the chamber is being lifted!
So much for the dungeon. A familiar face is waiting not far ahead.
Who are you, anyway?!
My name is Ascot. I've come to dispatch you, ladies.
Come again?!
Zagat sent you!!
A bright one! I like that. But that won't lessen my glee in crushing you, ladies.
Elsewhere...
What's wrong, Jiminy?
Mode 7 graphics in effect!
So much for the mortgage.
Jiminy, what's happened to you!?
And off he goes.
That's cheating!
What the...!
Jiminy!?
Oh dear...
How did he get so big?
And now, ladies, it's time for you to surrender to the crimson tide.
With that, the next boss fight.
Pretty pathetic. He flies around, lands(with a bang), you move and hit him.
Sometimes he does this:
Just don't stand in his vicinity, then repeat.
Before long, Jiminy's toast.
Hikaru... It doesn't look like that's going to be necessary anyway...
It's too late... his body probably wouldn't have survived the mutation anyway.
Jiminy...!
Zagat is an evil master! How can you serve him?
Look what you've done! Jiminy was Sera's closest friend! He meant everything to her!
Using an innocent creature for your own twisted deeds is disgusting!
Poor Sera... when she finds out about this, she's going to be crushed...
This is the same grief Emerald is going through... all because of Zagat...!
Zagat's a cruel bastard! How can you work for such a man!?
Let's go.
Umi...
We've still got to save this rock from creeps like this.
That's true, but... that poor girl...
We'd better explain what happened and apologize to her personally.
(They do, cutscene style.)
I'm so sorry...
We really did try...
*WHAM*
Umi is shock.
And Sera is pissed.
She's a strong girl. She can stand on her own. I'll see to that!
Now, isn't there something you were supposed to do?
...Then GO! Don't be like me!
Thank you!
Caltus, I was wrong about you... I'm so sorry.
No, I needed a dose of reality.
Well...
Get going already! Never look back!
Keep your eyes on the future!
Good cue to leave.
Or not.
Huh?
Umi! Look at that!
It's a dragon...!
Umi, you have shown the heart of a Magic Knight.
When that potential is fully realized, I shall return for you.
(More cutscenes! Big budget this chapter.)
Sure beats a doll collection.
Ceres Get!
Meanwhile...
Haven't checked in on the peanut gallery in a while.
That doesn't sound good for him.
Intervention!
Of a sort.
I think I've earned a shot at doing away with those three brats.
And then, after I've returned victorious, we can talk about Ascot.
It would please me if you were to end this circus. You're free to try.
You won't be disappointed!
Caldina!
So long, failure scouts.
The townspeople mostly comment about the seas clearing up, the HUGE FRICKING DRAGON, and still having no fish due to the world's decline.
Poor, poor Jiminy... how could I have known he was under Zagat's evil influence?
And now my house is completely demolished! What can I do?
goddammit sega
oh well at least sneses are dirt cheap here and that is what matters
yeah but if lain were perhaps a fifth the price i woulda gone for it.
volumes of robot are also stupidcheap here and i love some murata/abe compilation.
also, you are now imagining an adventure game where every sprite and texture is losslessly hand-drawn by abe.

I would remorselessly murder for that game. The Lain PSX game isn't that. Third rate anime.
For what it's worth, BOTH versions of MKR sell for dirt cheap. The Japanese one especially.
Fun fact: another reason it took so long to localize was because huge portions of the coding were lost by the original developers, and Working Designs had to rebuild it from scratch.

Part 8: The Rock of Cefiro
When last we left off, it seems some foreigners are stirring up drama in iceland.
While [strike]Caldina[/strike] some mysterious pink-haired girl we've never ever seen before is drawing all the guys, someone else is controlling the ladies.
I wonder where we've seen him before.
Well, he's popular enough.
See? Not dead.
Well, someone's on the ball!
So we meet again after all!
Looks like somebody's pretty popular with the ladies...
And it looks like someone's about to get knocked the eff out.
F...Fuu! How are you? It's been so long!
Save the stammer! I don't want to keep you from your pack of drooling groupies.
Huh? Erm, well... it's not like that at all! Honest!
I suppose you don't know any better. You're just not sensitive enough.
Ouch.
I think it's pretty obvious, Hikaru.
You knocked him clear into next week, Fuu.
Hrmph. I should have knocked him into next YEAR!
It's always the quiet ones.
I don't even.
There's always fanfiction.
There's not a great deal to do in Rosen. There's an inn, a lot of townsfolk, and one overpriced shop.
And a home we can't enter.
The locals are nuts for Caldina and Ferio, respective of gender.
Nice inn, anyway.
And free board!
Can't see why not.
Great, because I'm beat. Let's go!
Elsewhere!
The local men keep busy.
So to speak.
They got played.
Now I can use them to help me find the Machine that's buried in this volcano!
...and when I do, I'll CRUSH it, along with the pathetic legend of the Magic Knights!
I'd have enchanted the women, too, if that ragged flute player hadn't kept them busy..
Ah, but not to worry. Once this is over, flute-boy and the women are mine, anyway!
Ha, ha, ha!
Good luck with that.
At least someone's on the ball.
Wha?
What? What's the problem?
It looks like some kind of meeting is taking place!
The village men are walking through town in a trance that only appears to occur at night!
I probably wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't up late at night doing the books...
Well, we're gonna go get to the bottom of this!
Wait a minute, Hikaru! I need my beauty sleep! This isn't our problem!
"Umi, we can't sit still while these people need our help." Right, Hikaru?
Good impression of me, Fuu! And you're right!
Ugh... looks like i'm outnumbered yet again...
I'm going to look 40 before I turn 20 at this rate!
And off we go to rescue some sheep.
A stray!
Oh would you? That sounds great!
Thanks, Ferio! You'll be a great help, I'm sure!
What was that?
Apparently you've got too many other preoccupations. So I'm saying "NO THANKS".
I'm sure you'd much rather be playing with your pack of women from earlier, anyway.
We're quite capable of taking care of ourselves in there. Isn't that right, Hikaru? Umi?
Very helpful, girls.
There goes the bishonen quotient.
Fuu!? Have you lost your freaking mind?
Oh... Ferio was waiting out here for us. I can't believe we just blew him off like that.
Oh... Oh, no...
Huh?
I... I've made a terrible mistake...
I didn't mean to be so cruel to him... I don't know what's gotten into me..
We'll just have to make do. It's alright, Fuu.
Fuu, as soon as we run into Ferio again, we'll apologize to him, alright?
I hope so... I feel terrible. I really am sorry...
Tell you what. I'll say sorry to him too, okay?
Oh, would you? Thanks, Hikaru. That means a lot to me.
Enough with the "I'm okay, you're okay" crap. Let's get moving!
Seconded.
Cavern time!
This dungeon's a bit tricky. Lots of overlapping conveyor paths, and two layers.
Also a couple switches.
Not much of a threat as monsters go, aside from some durable snails.
And some brain dead townsfolk.
Quite a few rainbow amulets. Still way too many to go.
These lead to the higher level.
HP bonus!
The crossroads.
And new magic!
Receive the magic of the blue tornado!
With this magic, you can create a whirlwind of water that sucks in your enemies.
Lots more of them.
New magic opens new doors, which leads to...
This trap was supposed to be for the girls, but I've trapped a waif instead!?
I don't believe... hey, wait a minute, I know you!
You're the one who tried to stop me from hypnotizing the villagers!
You played that annoying noise and kept the women from falling under my control!
Because of you, my plans were almost ruined!
You!
Oh, what PERFECT timing! Now I can dispatch four pitiful annoyances at once!
This is between you and me! Leave them out of this!
Strong words for such a weak fool! Trying to impress your little girlfriends here?
Haha, I'd expect nothing less than desperate verbal jabs from a follower of Zagat.
Using a silly dance to put men under your control... oooh, I'm shaking!
Your number's up, sweetcakes. Let's see if you can dance your way past ME!
You'll seriously regret that foolish invitation, waif-boy!
Because I'm in the mood to dance a jig on your freshly dug grave.
And I ALWAYS get what I want.
Okay then, pinky. Show me what ya got!
Ferio, no!
Stay back, Fuu!
But I can't let you do this!
By all means, join in, girls! The more, the merrier!
Caldina's tricky, in a word. And she has lots of health. And only Fuu's normal attacks can hurt her.
(The others can use their magic, all of twice before running out of MP.)
All Ferio really does is provide a barrier from Caldina's obstacles, and not a very good one.
Her toughest attack. You have to hit the one that dances in the opposite direction. No easy feat.
That one's just annoying.
After lots of hit and run, she finally goes down.
Ferio, you never said. Why did you come to this village?
Magic Knight or not, my intentions of rescuing Emerald
haven't changed. I'm serious. If I'm going to reach Zagat,
I'll be forced to take out his minions one by one.
So you mean to say that you knew about Caldina all along?
A-ha, so that's it! The reason you were playing the flute was
to keep people from falling under Caldina's spell!
I used to be a traveling performer. Playing the flute was second nature!
All right, then, Fuu... what are you waiting for?
I'm sorry, Ferio... I didn't know, and that's why I said what I did.
Ha, you're just too easy!
But, you said...!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha! You really need to get more street-wise!
Adios, girls!
What a dick.
Never change, Hikaru.
I think he's just being coy. Don't you, Fuu?
I hope you're right, Umi.
Random new magic! I think.
Meanwhile...
Okay...
Short interlude.
The townsfolk are still in the same boat.
Last time the big fella finished erupting, a huge rock fell and blocked off the path.
Most of them anyway.
The only problem is that the path to go there's been blocked by falling rocks...
Wait! Of course! Why don't you visit the rear of the village and talk with Rafarga?
He's supposedly some kind of great warrior. Maybe he can help you reach Iaye!
Good idea!
Good thing we solved that mystery!
Rafarga Smash!
HEY!
Wow...
My name is Rafarga. Is there something I can do you for?
What? Oh? Fascinated by the ice on my house?
The drifting snow builds up my door, creating a huge sheet of ice over it.
Every time I leave, I have to bust through the ice. It's no big deal, really.
What a royal pain! You must have trained real hard to be able to do something like that!
Hmm? Well, I guess you could say that.
So, can you break through regular doors too?
I'm not following you. What are you getting at, little miss?
Look, I'll clue you in fast. We want you to teach us your skills.
We need to learn them so we can get past the boulder blocking the path into the mountain.
My secrets? Sorry, I can't do it.
But, why not!?
I came to this village to get away. My days of adventuring are now over.
This is not an adventure! You would simply be passing on knowledge!
We have to get through that mountain pass to continue our quest!
Quest? What quest? And who are you?
We're on a quest to rescue Princess Emerald!
For us to fulfill our destinies as Magic Knights, we've got to overcome this obstacle!
Magic Knights? The ones from the legend? YOU!?
Part of our quest involves growing our weapons and reviving the ancient Machines.
But, in order for that to happen, we're going to need YOUR help!
Rafarga, we're begging you! You're our only hope!
Hrmph... look at the size of you girls! It won't be all that easy! Ha ha ha ha!
Huh??
You're making fun of us?
Calm down! All right, I'll do it! Prepare for your first lesson, ladies!
Well, that enthusiasm won't hold.
The technique is known as the 'Pulverizing Bash'!
Ready? Now try it!
Yes, SIR!
That didn't work.
Nor did that.
Or the next seventy tries.
Yes, SIR!
You're welcome to spend the night here so we can get an early start tomorrow.
Hey, maybe in Cefiro it's perfectly normal to invite three girls into your house for the night.
Hikaru ain't having it.
Are we really that unreliable? I got a cat out of a tree once!
Hmm? Oh, Hikaru. It's nothing. Go back to bed. You've got a big day tomorrow.
I'm really sorry about earlier. We tried our best, but we just couldn't do it.
We'll try harder tomorrow, though... I promise!
You know, you have beautiful eyes...
I can see it in your eyes. Your passion to succeed. I used to have that passion...
I used to be one of Princess Emerald's personal bodyguards.
When Zagat attacked us, I did my best to protect the Princess, but...
I was unable to move before him. He was virtually untouchable.
Right before my very eyes, the helpless Emerald was taken away.
All my strength, all that power... useless at the hand of Zagat's magic.
After that, I lost my passion. I practically lost my will to live.
That's why I moved to this quiet village. I needed change... peace, for once.
But thanks to you, I've felt that passion again! I want to fight!
Oh, Rafarga...
I have to face my personal demons. No more running away from them.
Hikaru, I promise you, we WILL find a way to rescue Emerald.
Yes... I believe that.
And then, as if on cue:
What was that!?
UMI!!
Hi...karu Smash?
Ooh, scary.
A bug? That's it? Big deal!
Well, EXCUSE ME! To me it IS a VERY big deal!
Whoa! I did... didn't I?
Achievement Get! You know what that means, don't you?
That's right.
Mysterious CefiroLecture #3!
You've just mastered the skill known as the 'Pulverizing Bash'!
Indeed. By running to increase your speed, the power to throw yourselves increases as well.
You can destroy places with weak foundations or small cracks with incredible ease!
But, be sure to give yourself plenty of room to run so you can increase your speed!
That's right. Make a good approach, start running, and then BOOM!
That's all for today, kids! We'll let you get back to your game now! Have fun!
Science!
I understand. Soon it will be time for me to leave this place as well.
I have a feeling our paths are destined to cross again...
Forget 'feeling'! I'm sure of it! Take care!
Aww.
Addendum: I do recall hearing that Hikaru and Rafarga become an item at one point in the manga/anime.
helllooo. love your lp. played this game as a child and was obsessed with it. love how talking with each of the girls gets a different reaction. when they are encased in their colorful light thing they are getting an upgrade to their armor (:

I decided on the latter, but I had to switch methods. This is from a direct capture video, so if the quality is too horrible, I'll try to make it higher quality next time.
I prefer larger scale images, myself.
Tell me what you think.
The Story So Far!
Part 5 in the works.
Also, if there's any interest, I can record the voice acting of the journals. All of them are dubbed.
The BGM here is pretty rad, not what you'd expect.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeFF9boYgck
Right.
Interesting phrasing, but... yes.
Well, okay! Everything's solved, monster's dead, let's go!
Nice welcoming committee.
Next time: Beyond The Horizon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA8G16IC07M
I recorded the VA of the latest Diary entries; 7, and the two newest which recap this update, 8 and 9.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51iNBKQ3S00
Do these screens look better?
I should be able to finish tomorrow, hopefully.
I have no clue.
And no comment.
I will continue to record key events since I can.
As for the current screen shots, it looks readable enough, if somewhat blurry.
Decided to cut this one short since it's ready.
There's a special video to almost make up for it.
Help!!!
In that case.. here!
Perfect! Let's move! We've got a cave to explore!
Until next time, here's a Special Preview!
Make sure you watch!
Next time: Ice-burning
I'll keep an eye on this thread, for sure!
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
The video's there, at least. :P
On the plus side...
(Oh, Victor. )
Part 7's pending. Hopefully with a (slightly more) reliable host.
Didn't do any videos this time since the interest doesn't seem to be there, but I may still go back and do some for the cutscenes.
(Also, the boss fight was stupidly easy.)
Ceres Get!
Rent to own!
Good to know.
Even the skyline is clear now.
Yeah, I'll bet.
So moving on, we can get past the water now:
Which means!
Frosty time.
Uh...
Next time: Dance, Puppets, Dance!
oh yeah cj i saw the lain game at mandarake and it was far too expensive at about one-sixty bucks
And I've played it, spare yourself the trouble. :P It isn't very good. It's... more of an interactive novel. thing.
oh well at least sneses are dirt cheap here and that is what matters
yeah but if lain were perhaps a fifth the price i woulda gone for it.
volumes of robot are also stupidcheap here and i love some murata/abe compilation.
also, you are now imagining an adventure game where every sprite and texture is losslessly hand-drawn by abe.
For what it's worth, BOTH versions of MKR sell for dirt cheap. The Japanese one especially.
Fun fact: another reason it took so long to localize was because huge portions of the coding were lost by the original developers, and Working Designs had to rebuild it from scratch.
Uh...
VICTOR!
(I appreciate all feedback, so take a few minutes to check it out)
Pokemon White: 5371-9705-4895
3DS Friend Code: 2105-8646-1262
Let's go!
I think.
Mysterious Cefiro Lecture #3!
