okay, guys. lets not turn this into the deputy nomination thread.

The fact is, the way we are currently considering doing it, we would give a deputy a 3-5 week "term", and then give someone else a chance. I already know of at least 12 people just in SE++ that I could comfortably go to to be deputies.

I don't expect to have more than 3-4 deputies at a time from any particular forum, so I've easily got the next 3-4 months booked. And if you ask now, I will most definitely forget you by then...

Being jailed feels more like I'm in one of those wooden contraptions with my head through one hole and my hands in two others, and I can yell at people walking by. And they can throw tomatoes at me.

What are those called? The STOCKS?

are you going to have 3-4 in certain forums or just overall?
and are we going to know who is the deputy or not?

So, since Ramius didn't answer my question before: will deputies be able to note who they've jailed in the "Banned" thread in Ramius' Place, or will mods have to do it? Because I assume that deputies won't be able to post in locked threads.

I'm not sure if we are going to post jailed users in the thread. Because 1) it is obvious they are jailed because of their title/av and 2) the mods will have a report they can access to see who is jailed, when they were jailed, and who jailed them.

Sounds like a good idea, to me. Jailing someone will effect a persons previous posts, too, right? So if someone spams Goatse or something, it'll turn the images into broken strings of BBCode once a deputy catches them?

Ah, thanks. I was wondering if the mere peons would be able to tell who nicked who. As long as the mods know it should be fine, though.

I have actually been thinking about something similar to this for a while, thinking about an intermediate between banning and nothing. This sounds perfect.

That said, Unban bendery and jail him, if you'd like, but main thing is unban him please.

That sounds really great, but if someone spams goatse, I think they'd be pretty banned.

Seriously, Bendery didn't deserve a perma-ban. His avatar wasn't much worse than the bouncing-boobs avatar or the anime-schoolgirl-killing thing NSFW-wise.

Indeed, one G&T person (I forget who), has a Love hina clip of a girl rubbing another girl's breasts... I don't see how Bendery's flash of a girl in a bikini in his avatar was worth a permaban...

Eyesock doesnt seem to enthused about the idea:

Isocc said it's porn if the girl is touching herself. I told Bendery to make sure he didn't use those frames of the animation in his avatar, and I saw the finalized version and it didn't look bannable at all. Not even close.

FFTA is also quite cool, but not quite at the same "superhuman" level of coolness as soccer. However, this only enhances the overall "coolness factor" of the phrase "yellow cards".
