    No.

    Nononononono.

    No.

Those scarves took DAYS of multiple people making them just to have enough for the leaders. If you want one, you're gonna have to be a leader. It's your job to find the leaders, not the leaders job to keep track of all of you. ;)

    Yep. Grind away, unfortunately.

Also holy shit Rdr, that scarf looks fantastic.

Now, how am I going to wear my scarf... since, you know. I already wear a scarf to PAX. Hmm... head turban? No, that would be silly.

    I'll figure something out.

It's INSANELY ANNOYING, but yes. Victory road and that trail above your house. Also, call trainers until they ask to battle you. XD Eventually you can also get gym leaders' numbers and call them up for battles as well.

Hi all. I'm a long time player and starting to get back into the swing of things. I'm more of a breeder than I am a battler. I heard that there was a lot of pokemon players on the PAX forums from the last PAX. I hope to actually get a team ready!

My friend and I both got shiny mudkips from HALOZ.COM at Anime Boston 2010.
Would they be considered hack pokémon?
My friend needs to know so that he knows whether or not he needs to choose another for his PAX East team.

The way we trainers should stick out is actually dressing up as trainers, like how I am planning to do. (Nothing too intense, a beanie with the pokemon symbol from HGSS and a lil X* plushie on my shoulder)

Also my suggestion for the Spin Trade during the pokeman meet up at 4 is still up.

    All of us. Together.

[*Not giving away what pokemon it is for it will also be on my team. )

    What's a spin trade?

I plan to be going as a trainer with a pokemon hat. I just have to convince the person taht knows how to operate the sewing machine to help out. :) But you probably know that from the bazillion times I've said this.

Hey I got one from them, too! (: And their Murderkarp. Imagine this:

    Magikarp named Murderkarp.
    Level 100.
    Shiny.
Moveset is Hyper Beam, Zap Cannon, Octazooka and Special Rend.

It is a monster. A monster to be feared.

I don't have any sort of decision-making power, so I can't say whether someone might let you use one, but those are definitely hacked. There's no other way to get a Magikarp that knows those moves otherwise. They were giving them out as jokes, right? Because you can't use those in a serious game.

The Magikarp is fo sho hacked.
The Mudkip, however, I don't believe is. You get it at lvl 5, and its stats look okay. The only special thing about it is the fact that it's shiny. It knows Ancient Power, too, though I'm not sure if it can learn it or not. If not, then it's easily replaceable by another move, neh?

OK, but what about the shiny Mudkip?
It was given at lvl 5 (my friend has trained his up a bit, I haven't)
Move set is Ice Ball, Tackle, AncientPower, Growl

Wow, didn't expect the two of you to be on here. Anyway, I was talking about the Magikarp, but it turns out that Mudkip can learn Ancientpower through breeding. While it's likely HALOLZ used an AR to get a bunch of shiny ones, I don't really mind purely cosmetic changes made to a Pokemon, or using cheats to give it moves it can learn on its own. Those codes don't change the gameplay, they just save the trainer time. You might not be able to use them in an official Nintendo tournament, but I'd be fine with it in any other setting.

    According to

    http://waitingforseedot.appspot.com/moveset?id=mudkip&id=&m=Ice+Ball&m=Ancientpower&m=&m=

it's impossible to breed a Mudkip with those two moves. You can get one, or the other but not both.

As for using it in the League, the only way we'd know that it's hacked is if it used both moves (and the GL knew that that combination was illegal). If you make the moveset legal (delete one or both of the moves, only use one of the moves, etc) then we have no way to tell if it was hacked or not. Chances are that your friend wants to use it because it's shiny, right? That shouldn't be a problem.

As a rule of thumb though, most fan made events are hacked :3

Did you guys really have to ask us if you could use hacked Pokemon? : sighs:

Blackfox, please don't tell people how to skirt around the rules like that. Just because the movesets are legal doesn't mean other things aren't (31 for all IVs, 255 for all EVs, wrong abilities) which can be more broken then a hacked movesets. People are not going to like being denied badges because someone on the forums said it was ok to use a hacked Pokemon as long as "no one noticed".

The Magikarp is definitely not legal. The mudkip is more debatable but if you can prove that it's not max-IVd and has a legal ability, I'd be willing to let it slide. This is not an official ruling, though.

I can test for this (preferably pre-PAX), but someone will need to trade it to me.

You can check yourself if you have access to lvl 100 wifi battle.

Start the battle, check the stat screen, put them into any IV calculator (google one) and there you go.

At least with fleece hats, our heads will stay warm and stylish. Thank you Rdr, I'll feel much less like a dork for wearing a poke hat.
