It's utterly reprehensible how bad those guys are at playing D3D. Granted, it might be a little nerve-wracking playing a game when one of it's creators is sitting there watching you, but still, try not to look like you've never played a FPS in your life. And maybe, I don't know, sit down and play the game a little beforehand to refamilerize yourself with it before the subject of your interview comes in. Ya know, do a little research, like a real fucking journalist would? ::facepalm::
I hate to be that guy, but I do not understand how you can be in the business and play so terribly.

That was one of the poorest displays of gaming prowess that I've seen in a long time. How the fuck does anyone in the gaming industry not know how to breeze through Hollywood Holocaust??
I'm having difficulty watching it because the guy playing is awful and somehow seems to have no familiarity with DN3D. How can you have lived through the 90's without having played endless hours of Duke Nukem?
Hearing Randy talk about decals, though, reminds me of shooting my name and smiley faces into walls back then. It was like MS Paint, except your paintbrush was guns and your paint was bullets and this is a pretty strained comparison.
Wow, this video should have been kind of awesome, but those two idiots ruined it because, 1 - they didn't know what they were doing. 2 - They acted as if they didn't know who their fucking guest was, and 3 - they didn't give a shit about Duke Nukem 3D.
The facts that Pitchford was telling them about the game while they played it were all really interesting, but they couldn't have cared less.

Man, I've fogotten how open the levels were in Duke3D. I hope we get the same thing in DNF.
It's a shame how FPS's only really advance in graphics, and basically devolved in everything else. Seriously, how exactly is a long scripted corridor an advancement?
Shadow Warrior was, I think, mechanically superior to Duke Nukem 3D. It was also very racist, but it did have things like vehicles and transparent water.
Then again, I guess it's close enough to the 80's to get away with those stereotypes.
Are you saying the 80's are racist?
The game was satire based on the kung-fu mythology with poor taste thrown in. Redneck rampage was even worse, but not offensive.
I wish they remade both of those, I'd be in heaven.
I'm saying that in 80's movies, all Asians are either 90 years old kung fu master or evil rebellious kung fu students. Sometime you have a highly loyal Asian kung fu student, but that role is usually reserve for the white guy who learns kung fu in a weekend and beats up all the Asians who studied kung fu their entire lives.

Wow, I watched the first 20 min of that video, the guy playing was appallingly bad at that. He died at the first pig cop like 4 times in a row. He was playing terribly by even basic FPS standards.
I would love to play through that whole game with Pitchford pointing stuff out to me and telling me facts and stories about it. Especially since he seemed to enjoy it so much himself.
Yes I'm still going on about it, but those are such idiots.
The cover pic makes me really wish they'd remove that woman's hand from the box art, the one giving Duke a reach around or an enema. It's just bad box art, especially after so many years. I'd prefer the generic place holder of the radiation symbol over the enema hand.

Agreed. The hand just comes across as trying way too hard.
I'd say its the opposite. They weren't trying hard enough. Love the background, Vegas getting annihilated, that's a well drawn little scene. The front row? Awful.
Duke looks poorly drawn/made/whatever, the "looking up at him" thing is on such a bizarre angle, combined with the fact that the background isn't on that same angle, makes it look like Duke is lying down, then that hand is just so horribly put on, and seemingly dismembered/attached to nobody. It looks like Duke is falling through the sky or on his knees with a woman's torn arm protruding from his ass.
Honestly, bad box art.

That background is still awesome. It has Proton's casino!
Also loving the new look for the octobrains. I think of the 3D modeled old enemies, they're the best one's. Some mean lookin' squids.
My view on DNF has been pretty tainted by the "it took a decade+!" thing. The box art wouldn't bother me but, the *insert whatever other nitpick I come up with* wouldn't bother me but, and so on.
Chances are the boxart itself will be in the game, so just pick up some poo from a toilet and smear shit all over it if you don't like it.

Looks like the ESRB has finally checked out DNF
This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of Duke Nukem, an action hero who must save Earth from invading aliens. Players use pistols, rail guns, shotguns, explosives, and Duke's bare hands to attack and kill the alien enemies. The majority of gameplay involves destroying these enemies in frenetic gun and laser battles in order to move on to the next section. Aliens are often decapitated or dismembered when hit, sending large splashes of blood across the ground, surrounding walls, and players' screen. Some sequences depict more 'over-the-top' instances of violence: aliens getting stabbed in the head or impaled; a human soldier bursting into bloody gibs after being tossed through propeller blades. In one sequence, players have the ability to shoot human characters that are trapped in pod-like alien webbing; bodies explode into pieces upon impact. During the course of the game, players enter a strip-club level and view several topless dancers and receive lap dances. A couple of missions within this level require players to recover sex toys and pictures of topless women. A few sequences strongly imply sexual acts: two women appear to perform fellatio on the central character (e.g., raising their heads from his lap)—though there is no actual depiction of the sex act; Duke moans and leans up against the wall of a bathroom stall (furnished with a hole)—it is implied that a sex act (not depicted) occurs. The game also contains several sexual references and innuendo in the dialogue (e.g., 'I have hungry—you have big egg ro' for me, Duke,' 'If you supply the dancing, I'll supply the pole,' and 'I'll need something naughty to play with.'). Duke's comments range from jokes about colon cleansing to several one-liners about sex and female body parts. Bathroom humor includes the ability to urinate in toilets or urinals and/or pick up feces from toilets and throw it against walls. Players can use both steroid pills and beer as power-ups; when beer is consumed, the screen temporarily blurs. The words 'f**k,' 'sh*t,' 'c*ck,' and 'a*shole' appear in dialogue and on-screen text.

No kidding. Speed runs are speed runs, of course, but that seems like a horrible way to play Duke 3D anyway.

Except for the lack of killing, anyway.

Nobody does. Also, huzah! for classification
The tone of the violence and action is also probably radically different.
