Then either back for another check-up, or just start the international compendium right there.
After many long years (about 3.5, actually), the fabled failure of a sketchbook is once again returned to my hands. It was a great feeling, to be reunited with this artifact of my past, when I was but an optimistic and trusting nave. This sketchbook was supposed to be sent around the country(Canada counts too) to acquire sketches and doodles from any willing members of our art community, to contribute to a compilation of sorts.
However, there were...speedbumps, and the book never made it past 3 or 4 entries. But that has not curbed my enthusiasm, as I still have this sketchbook what needs filling, and I'm still determined to take volunteers.
So would anybody be interested in taking on this endeavor? Rules are relatively simple: get the book, draw in the book, send it out to the next person in line. The order will also be organized via geographic location in order to save people money on postage.
Here's the more specific rules quoted from a post what seems like an eternity ago:
Anyways, here's my book's rules or whatever:
- On the Index page, write the next number in sequence, and then your name and/or forum name. You can include where you live if you want, preferably just what state or province.
-Write your number on the top left-hand corner of any page you choose to draw on. Your number is the number you wrote your name next to on the index page. Also, you can go ahead and sign your work at the bottom of the page if you want to.
-Feel free to use the back of any page you draw on, I don't care, just make sure to keep everything in order by artist and number.
-Any medium is fine, keep in mind it it just normal sketchbook paper. Just make sure that you are considerate of another's artwork. So no using thick markers if you're just going to bleed through like 5 pages.
-It's fine if you have a friend that wants to join in on the fun and contribute some sketches/doodles, just have him/her sign in on the index page and they can go right ahead.
-Don't be a dick.
-Go ahead and add a sticker or decal to the front or back cover if you have any that you would like to contribute, preferably anything that says where your from.
Let's try to keep track of where this thing is, exactly, like someone make a post when they send it out and the recipient should make a post when they receive it to make sure it reached it's destination intact.
If anyone is still interested after all that, I guess I can start taking PM's with your addresses. Please refrain from posting any sensitive information in this thread. Also, your information will only be given to the person before you in line so that they may ship it to you.
Here's some scans of the work that's already in it. It's super embarrassing to show how shitty my drawing was, but now I can show how much I've improved before sending it out again!

Also I call shenanigans on 3.5 years. Lexxy's put homestuck stuff in there!
Also the last entry was a friend of mines, added last week as well.
EDIT: I don't have a problem with it being international, the original thread had some Canucks on the schedule but it never made the rounds. I forgot we had some Aussies on the boards, what would shipping cost for that? I'd love to get everyone in on it as possible, but we'll see based on who wants to participate and what's actually feasible.
I know that costs a little more.
Your dedication to the cause is admirable, Sieg

I've got final crits coming up on the 15th and I start work on the 29th, so sending this out around the beginning of April should work out nicely.
Moly/Cilantro you're going to be in Cincy next quarter right? I'm going to be in Columbus but I can get it to you early on in the quarter so you can draw in it before we send it out of state.
Alternatively, send it to me while i'm still here in Pasadena and I will drive it back to OH on a four-day nationwide tour

Then I would sleep with it every night and cherish it forever.
Unless somebody has any better ideas.
P.S. I love this.
Once again I'll make the list at the end of the month, so we've still got awhile to go before it heads anywheres.

Unfortunately I'm scrambling around trying to find a place to live for next week so until that gets squared away I won't be able to make a list or get everything organized.
One thing I do need is for everyone to send me their address. I only have like 4 of yours and obviously i need more.
If no other options present themselves, you can live inside your mother's skull.
The "confirmed" people order so far looks like this:
Molybdenum
JABmonkey
Nanaki
tapeslinger
meltingdoll
(possibly back to me to scan after that takes care of East Coasters)
Nibcrom
Phthano
Dances with Magpies
Dee Lock
I sent PM's to those that have yet to send me their address, but once they do I can insert them into that list where appropriate.
I have also decided to make the run around the U.S. for now, then when everyone gets taken care of stateside they can send it back to me and I'll scan everything and make an update, then wrap it up with the international peoples. So Flay and tynic will be waiting for awhile before they can participate, but I am totally down to send it overseas and get everyone involved as possible.

I may attempt some sort of bond-esque stealth snatching of the book, but you ordinary non-first-receivers-of-books need not concern yourselves
