So I was thinking that if I scouted the crisis deck and we got some jump prep, the Cylon fleet would jump in at us and then we'd immediately jump away. What do you guys think?

    Stiles on
  • DarianDarian Yellow Wizard The PitRegistered User regular
    edited March 2011
Well, it would have to be jump prep with no Heavy Raiders. I don't think we really need to do that, though; even if we don't get a jump prep, if the Cylons close on us we can just flip the FTL switch and use my reroll if necessary.

This might be a good time to encounter Anders if you're using a card action, though. Could clear him with no risk of bad stuff happening.

(At least, I assume no vipers would be damaged while we don't have any unmanned birds out in space.)

Clearing out Anders isn't a bad idea. If we want to guarantee a jump, you could also go to the Engine Room and activate it. Though launching a scout is probably better, since you could also bottom-deck any particularly nasty crisis cards you find. If you have an EO, I can scout twice, I guess, though what I'd do with the second action if the first scout reveals a decent crisis card I have no idea.

I might also suggest heading over to Pegasus and fixing up the Main Batteries.

Yeah, which is why I was offering to XO someone to activate administration on my turn so I can stay in the president's office, before you guys started yelling that I would be wasting my movement.
    Here's some hypothetical turns.

    What you want A:
Someone XOs you, so you move to administration, get presidency back on their turn.
You move back to president's office, XO someone else to do two actions
4 people do their own thing
    You use president's office
    Someone else does their thing

That's 8 turns, 2 xos, 9 actions not counting playing xo cards, and 2 quorum cards

    What you want B:
    Someone does their thing
You XO someone to move to administration for you, you get presidency back, they waste a card to move there
4 people do their own thing, one of whom has to waste another card to get back to Galactica
    You use president's office
    Someone XOs you

That's 8 turns, 2 xos, 9 actions not counting playing xo cards, 6 quorum cards, and 2 cards a player has to waste. This is great if you're a Cylon

    What I want:
    Someone does their own thing
You move back to administration, get presidency back
4 people do their own thing
You move back to president's office and xo someone else
The person who had to waste an XO on you before in your plan A now XOs you

    That's 8 turns, 2 xos used, 10 actions, and 4 quorum cards
