the thing about pulling off professor look is ya gotta be young and handsome enough (in a particular way) that people would not think you are stodgy or other words by looking at you

I think just being old and stodgy would also qualify as pulling it off.

    well yeah

On two occasions I have sported a mohawk, each for only a couple of days though
One of which I was drunk all day!

My girlfriend says it looked good, most of my other friends just... don't talk about it at all

You have to purge your current hair products and consolidate those you consider to be malleable. Airbrushing helps, as well.

Recommend me some hair styling products SE++

My hair is fine, straight, and grows in whatever random direction it damn well wants. As a result, I used to keep it short as possible, but I'd like to try some slightly longer hair now. I want something to move it around, sweep it off to the side, whatever. Without it becoming some shinny, sharp, spiky thing.

    I use this
    PAUL%20MITCHELL%20TEA%20TREE%20HAIR%20&%20BODY%20MOISTURIZER%2010.1OZ.jpg

I get out of the shower, dry my hair a little, use one squirt of that and run it through my hair. It keeps it looking wet-ish but also lets you style it a little bit. My hair is really curly and thick though, so it may be unsuited for straight hair.

    yes, pomade

make sure you work it in your hands a bit to warm it up before you put it in your hair, no more than maybe a fingernail's worth

or so the spa lady told me

pomade does need to be worked a bit, but not as much as many cremes because of how low-hold it is. also, it's going to "sweat out" anyway

really, you want to work it in your hands to spread it evenly so that it can add sheen to your hair without clotting

how much you add is up to you--however, being as how it's low-hold, the amount that you put in should depend more on how much shine you want than on how rigid you want your hair to be, because it isn't going to be rigid no matter what. Once the pomade has settled, your hair is going to be as malleable as it is after five or six days without showering--the only real variable is how glossy it is

also, just like not showering, pomade can add a lot of body. just a heads up
