I really want to find a pair of straight-leg, dark wash, "nice" jeans...all the pairs of jeans I have right now don't dress up very well, if that makes sense.

get some Levis in "Rigid Wash"

remember to cold soak and add vinegar if you want to keep the color

I saw a guy wearing flats.

Not flat boots, flats as in the kind women wear.

    I don't know if he's gay.

I don't know what to think about this. Have flats become unisex attire? Did I miss something?

I have seen guys wearing toms and it doesn't look too weird to me

    Dudes. Wearing those in public.

I just want to know what fashion trends I have apparently missed.

I've had my pair of 501s for almost two years now and they're only now really starting to show a wear pattern in'em. But hey, they still look and fit very well. Only the third time I've washed'em.
