haha why do you ask that right after I've shown evidence to the contrary?
It is my belief that in the creation of one's own work, one cannot truly appreciate the quality of said work, because one knows all the little tricks behind its creation and sees it for the two-dimensional jumble of lines that it is, rather than the well-rendered image others perceive.
I'm not sure how to combat this, myself. It's hard to use mirroring on a physical piece of artwork, and sometimes just stepping back from it doesn't work.

Doesn't work very well when you're in the process of creating a piece and can't tell whether your approach to foreshortening is working or not d:
Most often you can tell when it isn't, but there are times when you think it isn't and it really is. We're kind of biased against ourselves in that way.

Woah that's awesome Wasser! Really like the simplicity and texture.
Having fun doodling geeky shit:

Cool chica, though she has some structural issues. Her torso looks good but is a little short, and her legs are way distoreded, perspective, they look rotated the wrong way.
And also way too thin.

Just finished an assignment for life drawing. Photo replication.
So that's what I can come up with if I sit down and actually focus. Huh.

I'm pretty sure he's intending her to be turning at the waist to face the viewer, so the legs aren't the wrong way around.

My teacher liked it a lot, but I don't know if that was because he actually likes it or if it was just a huge improvement over previous iterations. Just wondering what you guys think.
Also as for the logo, I fixed that foot on the 'R' that you guys mentioned. It was dumb.
I haven't added any of the limbs yet, and I'm not sure how I'm going to do the teeth. Since the clay doesn't really allow for such small detail like that. I might sculpt them out of epoxy putty.
Sieg - I'm really, really liking that. My only big crit is to change the font and font padding of the "Doors@" section...the font looks (probably is, but I can't figure out which one) like one of the "standard with MS Word" fonts.
Moss, I'm usually completely in love with your work, but theres something about both of these that just isn't hitting for me.
Unfortunately, I just really don't like the Garrus and don't know where to go to fix it, but the Hawke has some really nice stuff going on - especially the face/beard. Where it falls flat for me is proportionally with the shoulders and neck. They are small enough in proportion to his head where it feels almost childlike, but not small enough where it feels intentional. Seems a little confused.

That's, uh...that's Helvetica.
But it's now the regular version and no longer italics. I'll post the final-final one after I print and mount it tomorrow.
EDIT: But I realized how ungrateful that makes me sound!! Thanks for the compliments though! I'm glad you like it I've been working hard on it.
matte painting, inspired by the shitty drive home, that always seems to be raining whenever I leave my friends at school to head back to my real world of employment.

Yeah I mean I wasn't trying to actually draw the entire span of the shoulders but I guess it sorta looks that way? They're also a little slopey, I totally see what you mean. Kinda just got bored after the face.
As for the Turian, just trying some new shit and dicking around. I consider it a failed experiment but I still want to take another crack at something in a similar style.
victra- I don't think I can handle another wakka here- my eyes will melt out due to pictures of sexy ladies. Great work though, its got a cool painted yet a bit graphic design feel to it.
Moss- I really like your graphic designs- but I always really REALLY enjoy it when you post things that are a bit more illustrative. Love the retro feel, yo
CyberMonkey - Wow that's a huge compliment! Thanks!
Also thats exactly what I was going for awesome it cam across that way the graphicness and painterly!

I get that, but it looks like she's both turned at the waist AND her toes pointed at the audience.
Also, way too skinny legs.

Yeah I think that's from the MMO.

So, I'm installing Dragon Age 2, and I come to this thread and see this. Very cool, Moss.
