You can still get Gros Michel bananas.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gros_Michel_banana

And where can you get them? Because all you did was link to the wiki article explaining what they are. I'm pretty sure they're almost impossible to get in the west.

There are places on the internet.

If banannas are sterile, what exactly do you plant to grow a bananna tree? Where do you get the seed?

    there is no seed
banana plants tend to send off secondary offshoots, and these are cut from the main plant and used to grow a second
this is why all bananas are cloned, they essentially all come from the "same" plant

Dig a penis shape hole in the ground. Place one ounce of rhino horn extract, two apple seeds, and a silver dollar in that hole. Then stick your Penis inside the hole. Wait until the flashing lights stop.

Pull your penis out and revel in the fact that it's now a banana.

Now go out into the world and plant bananas in whatever cavity you can find.

Most avocados are cultivated the same way because they take a very long time to grow

apparently they call them pups... and sometimes mutation produces seed, though it sounds like success is very limited
Normally sterile banana varieties sometimes mutate to produce a few seeds that can be used to induce sexual reproduction. But the logistics are daunting. In one successful experiment using this method, researchers hand-pollinated 30,000 commercial banana plants with pollen from wild bananas.

The resulting fruit - all 400 tons of it - produced just 15 seeds, only a third of which germinated.

I actually can't eat bananas. I have some weird minor reaction to them. My throat feels slightly tight for about an hour or so after I eat them.

I do love banana flavor though.

actually we lost the good banana somewhere in the eighties.

the strand we eat nowadays is not nearly as sweet and flavoured.

edit: it's still a cavendish, i've never had gros michels, but even within that species there has been a reboot.
