Yeah, but the last time I built a machine I installed windows 98 on it, so there's a pretty good chance I would have fucked it up. Also, researching builds/ spending an afternoon installing components and praying to god it works when i hit the button isn't my idea of a good time.
I'd much rather eat $400 - Windows, than cry over an expensive paperweight.

Ideally a dead computer would be an expensive magazine weight, at the very least.

Another reason (besides having no income) why I haven't built one.
Oh, wow. I can actually feel my mood start to dovetail hard. This is unpleasant.
As sub-enjoyable as it feels when the shiftsare perceptable, it is better than steady but crushing mono-depression weight. It's instructive how emotional states feel different as the goalposts and frames of reference begin to move.
I was reminded of something terrible happening to somebody's eyes in some media narrative but despite the incredibly vivid impression of said eye injury could not place the source at all
weird
not really I guess

It's about 400 including windows. 600 if you left it at the base graphics card and RAM, but yeah I've seen a lot of people express your sentiments
If you stick to well reviewed parts on newegg, the risk of DOA is low and putting the thing together is almost legos simple, but some people have zero patience for that stuff.
Really, my advice to you for the future is see if a friend who builds their own machines will research the parts and build it for you. Hell if you live near Chicago, I'd do it.
Yah yah yaaaah yah yah

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

So, managed to get totally lost on my first drive into the city. Not helped by the maps on my phone deciding to stop working just when I needed it the most.
OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE. Why the hell does anyone think that another Scream movie is going to do anything but fail in the most complete sense of the word given the current state of the film industry?

Kitty was reading a magazine printed on 8.5x11 glossy pages, modern print. This bugged me greatly.
