using them causes certain passive effects (the one I know of is a rogue one that gives you 25% extra crit damage) to provide negative effects if you take them
there's a similar issue with isabella's friendship bonus
That's... unfortunate, since I'm playing as a rogue and have used at least three of the things!
christ, warriors in DA2 are ridic once you hit level 20 or so
I may as well have been playing on casual for all of fights lasting three seconds
what's your setup
I was extremely annoyed to learn that I can't ever use a respec potion ever again unless I want to have a permanent negative 25% critical damage, but so far I have miasmic flask, +20% damage to distracted targets, guaranteed crits against targets that are stunned, +25% critical damage, and the deadly chain thing
god damn bugs
apparently the patch is in cert
it can't come fast enough
my guy was using
Bloom (2h)
+37% attack speed rune
+10% damage rune
Champion armor set
Four-fingered something or other amulet (BIG crit chance boost)
Seven Deadly Cinch (crit chance/damage boost)
Ring of No Promises (or something, mostly for the stun immunity)
Etched Ring of the Twins (crit crit crit)
skill list here (items all bugged out but the skill list is accurate right up to when I finished)
oh yeah, I'd forgotten all the stuff you'd PMed me
one thing I regret about my first playthrough is never setting varric up to Disorient stuff so my main team was capable of taking advantage of all of the cross-class combos
are you bothering with that, or are you just focused on smashing and stuff
I haven't really felt the need
I got the Brittle upgrade for Mighty Blow for when the chance presents itself but otherwise eh
by the end I was basically having to decide which of my crazy powerful activated mode I wanted to use next
anytime your damage starts sagging one of them is going to be off cooldown and it's time hulk out once more

I didn't notice that first one occurring and I respecced a few times
I wasn't really looking
I did finish up at a respectable 250% though
the second is the reason I just played another warrior

Speaking of saints I am reading A Canticle for Leibowitz.
Listening to lectures about Ancient Christianity. The lecturer just pointed out how the Roman Catholic idea of patron saints is just a continuation of the Ancient Roman patron-client social relationship. That just blew my mind.

you can check your critical damage on your attributes page (next to Cunning) if you want to be sure

I am enjoying said book.
I am praying I don't catch it.
Oh, I think I just have the first stealth skill from the tree. *phew*
and nerd, I was not a big fan of Shadow when I tried to play it "right" with obscure and shit
it's a hassle for not much gain
just get pinpoint precision and maybe up through decoy
Ohhhhhhhhh.
frankie has said this approximately 100 times this evening
the only thing not worth taking is maybe the upgrade to the 100% crit skill, if your natural crit is high enough to make it redundant
literally everything else is goddamn spectacular
EDIT: Oh, I see
