I can't figure out how to get audio from my Macbook Pro to play through my TV. My MBP is old enough that it can't output audio through an HDMI cable (apparently the most recent models can do this), and I'm not sure my TV is capable of playing audio through a separate cable while playing video through an HDMI cable. Or at least I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I don't know what cable I would need or what I'm supposed to do with my TV. If it helps, here's the TV I own:
Have you tried just running a male-to-male mini jack cable from your computer to the TV and using DVI instead? Might work with HDMI if you can set the TV to use the HDMI video with audio from the PC input.

Nevermind, your TV has optical output not input.
