AC CHALLENGE 25: YOUR NAME AS A LABEL

AC CHALLENGE 25: YOUR NAME AS A LABEL

Do I really need to explain this? I'm pretty busy y'know? Really?

Okay the deal is: you have a name right? It could be your AC handle or it could be your real name, the trick is that it's your name (or someone else's, I don't really care, as long as they post on the AC).

Now you have to turn that name into a label to sell something, like say Bombadier brand beer.

2841288686_fe9085252d.jpg

It can be any product at all; frozen peas, insurance, pencils, dirigibles etc. If Paul Newman were alive and posting here, I would try to make gay sex with him and he would also probably try to sell his awesome range of sauces with something like this.

newmans.gif

Try to be creative and witty and lots of other things that make people happy; like thinking outside of the box and being proactive about being forward thinking and all that other bullshit, just make sure it looks good or I'm going to take you out back and give you the gay sexing of a lifetime, even if your girl, but especially if your Paul Newman.

RULES:

* One entry per person, per challenge.
* A contestant cannot win more than two challenges in a row.
* Winner gets the privilege of choosing the next challenge.
* At the end of a challenge, the thread is locked and a new one is begun.
* Stick to the challenge topic; no going off on a tangent.
* All formats welcome, whether they be traditional or digital; 2D or 3D; still or animated.

Good luck!

I see what you did there, though I must admit it took me a while because I am perilously stupid.
Though really it just raises more questions: Is the tea shark flavoured? Or is it merely sharkyish in taste, a hint of shark if you will? Or perhaps the tea leaves are harvested by sharks in some under-sea tea farm?

I'm gonna have to try and get on board with this, since I'm already trying to assemble a graphic design portfolio.

Is it okay if the name is the manufacturers? Because I just realized that my name isn't the product....

I.... Think I'll go make a new one. My name is far from being the thing it's all about in Frog Punch.

Don't make a new one! I think this one is within the rules.

Just keep working on this one! Because I really like the concept!

I think the type that you've used for 'frog punch' is great! The text under it does not really work, though.

I like the old-timey squiggles you have going, and you could probably stand to add some more ornamentation.

For m3nace, I would suggest making all the the letters capitalized, that way they are all the same height. having just the M capitalized looks a little weird.

For the drawing, just put like a brown paper texture over it, and give the frog a mustache, monocle and boxing gloves! Instant classic!

And maybe put the 1889 down on the bottom of he frog image in a scroll. or maybe even 'menace vinyards est. 1889'.

Anyway that's enough of me hijacking your label, get to work buddy!

    [edit]
In other news, here is my first pass at mine. This will probably not be the branding, but this is pretty much the concept I'm going to roll with.

New version is ready to go:
    frog_punch_label_mark2_by_emir0-d3ep17c.png
    Verbose delineation ahead!
Version 2. Now with more ornaments as well as a mustache! No gentleman can go without one I say, lest he wants to appear as a vaudevillian vermin. Nay, real gentlemen are not made to swing around ropes like a monkey nor sing like a sissy, a proper gent is made for drinking tea, wine, scotch, brandy, whisky and other M3nace™ products as well as beating the crap out of eachother with their bare knuckles till the opponent bescumbers the very arena you are fighting in, thenceforth the victor shall be in need of the aforementioned products for his victorytoast, and the loser shall be in need of them to cleanse his wounds (no refund if the battle ends in the losers death).
As such M3nace™ products are a vital part of the gentleman's inventory, nay it is the only required part in his inventory apart from underwear and mustache wax.

    Menace! Much improved, dude!
I can write up some notes a little later if you are still working on it.

Anyhow. This is pretty generic, and obviously not a label, but I'm pretty much using this challenge an excuse to put together a webdesign portfolio (because I have an interview next week, lol).

    Sub_water_site1.jpg

Still a WIP, too. But I wanted to post it up.

M3nace: I definitely like the added ornamentation, but I would say make the border (the gray area with the decorative flare) thinner. It's a bit too overwhelming for the label right now, I'd probably half the size - which in turn will also help your "Menace" label not seem quite so insignificant. As of now the large label is just overshadowing it. Also maybe add a border on the menace label as to separate it from the border a bit more. Maybe use some "old timey squiggles" to outline it or something.

I need to do this, I've already done logos and stuff for my name but I discovered to my horror that the logo I created was frighteningly similar to those of some groups of people that prefer relationships with children. Suffice it to say, I need to make a new one.

    Thanks peeps!

melting_doll- I don't really post anywhere anymore, partly because work keeps me busy, but mostly coz I'm lazy. I'm trying to change that at the moment. If it's any comfort, the only stuff I do in my personal time, is for this site, but it's gotten to a stage now where I feel a little embarrassed posting images here because all you guys have gotten so good over the last few years.

Come on admins, lets get a poll on this thing. 2 pages of entries is not exactly a time pirate, and this is getting really annoying having to beg for someone to do this every time.
