The end of the fiber optic cable that was plugged into the port on my sound card broke off and is firmly lodged in there. I tried getting it out with tweezers, but couldn't get a grip on it. Any suggestions on how to get the bastard out of there? Buying a new sound card isn't really an option at this point.
i'd try other ideas first, but can you use superglue to re-attach it to the cable (or anything so much as the glue doesn't attach it to the case as well) enough so you can pull it out?
I'd put a small bit on a drill and bore it out a bit. Should help loosen it or at least give you a better grip for some needle nose pliers. Be careful not to go too deep...
edit: Is there enough of a metal jacket that you can solder a tail onto it?

Or take it to a computer store? They might at least be able to help you get it out or something if all else fails.

A Q-tip with the cotton cut off it should work perfectly to glue to.

Yep, that's exactly what I did one time for this.
