We had a tech come out to service our Hobart 60 quart mixer today, since it would only go into first and third gear, and third gear was running the same speed as first. While he was there my boss asked him if he could find out how old the mixer was. He punched the serial number into his laptop, looked puzzled, punched it in again, and goes "I can't tell, this thing only goes back to the 50's apparently".
i used to work at a machine shop. We had a table press from 1914. And the bar cutters we used were made in the 40's and were printed "Property of the US ARMY"
I think the best part is, he popped the top off, looked around a bit, saw the part that was broken, knew exactly what it was, and said "I'll have you one on Monday", on a machine that's not even referencable in their system. Stick with what works I guess.

The mixer looks exactly EXACTLY like one of the drill presses we had in chop class.
So I don't think anyone else saw it but Lawrence O'Donnell was fucking amazing. His frustration and anger at the birthers, trump and everything was visceral and well worded. So good.
He's no Anderson Cooper.
Anderson Cooper is a gorgeous man, I will agree. But he isn't an angry ranting socialist that is Lawrence.

That, but also if you have to manufacture something else then you have to melt it down and cast something anew. Making something last forever means that you have to have a use for it forever, and that isn't always the case.
Plus technology just advances. We could have done every job in the whole shop with probably two lasers at 100 times the speed. But since it only employed around 9 people the old equipment was all we could afford. Those small time shops are great for smaller businesses too that need a smaller amount of specialized parts.

Also if your GP is that out of touch time to get a new GP btw. They are your generalist which means they should be in touch coordinating between all your specialist and helping put it all together. That is why you have a hospitalist when you are at the hospital coordinating it.
I credit my GP for actually paying attention to all my symptoms not just a small special area. Pretty much saved my life. It was him and my Infectious Disease doc who also payed attention to more than just her cultures but to all my symptoms.

persistent migraines and a seizure should be taken more seriously than "try to relax"
