Brighter Headlights?

I've come to the conclusion that I need new headlight bulbs for my car. When I'm driving at night - especially if it's raining - I can barely tell that they're on. I've got an older model, and my headlights have always been dimmer than I would've liked...so I'm planning on upgrading, now that I can afford to. :)

I've got a 2001 Hyundai Accent. I know nothing of this process - are there certain kinds I should look for? Certain kinds that will fit, and others that won't? What's the rough price range for this?

It depends on the bulbs, but around $10 apiece for most cars. Just go to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto, tell them the make and model of your car, and they can tell you which bulbs you need to buy.

Just don't get those stupid ricer blue lights that make everyone else on the road blind please!

if your headlight lens are fogged or really scuffed up that can really difuse the light that comes out of them. you can re-polish them and that helps.

Also your headlights may be aimed poorly, if you're lighting the ground or the trees around you it definitely won't help you see straight ahead

Yeah, I've thought about both these things...but the headlight lenses aren't really scuffed at all...and the headlights themselves seem aimed alright - they're just dim.

I'll cruise around to AutoZone some point next week and ask 'em about headlights.

    Sylvania has a product look-up.

    Here's the one for AutoZone.

And of course just get both replaced at the same time. Depending on the model it's either super easy, really hard, or gorram impossible.
