So while the movieverse comics for Iron Man and Hulk kinda suck Captain America: First Vengeance by Fred Van Lente is pretty good so far.

What I am excited for is this:
    Cap-Thor-MCU_cover1.jpg
48-Page One-Shot by FVL and Ron Lim. Cap and the Howling Commandos take out an underwater HYDRA base and Thor, Sif and the other Warriors Three go rescue Fandral.

I haven't seen Thor yet, but Incredible Hulk is at the top of my list so far.

I just love the Hulk, and Edward Norton was fantastic. Yeah Liv Tyler was rather boring, but I didn't mind that.

What I did mind was the dissapointing ending in Iron Man 2. I mean, the entire film was basically pumping you up for a badass battle, and then the whole thing is basically a chase scene that he isn't even directly a part of, and then an actual battle that lasted barely five minutes.

At least with Iron Man the movie wasn't constantly reminding you about a big epic showdown that was coming up. That was a lot more happenstance and created less expectations.
I'm really glad that all these Marvel movies have a god damned sense of humor. That was my main problem with the Ang Lee Hulk movie, that it was so fucking grim.

Yeah, I think it's harder to appreciate the dark parts of a film when there's nothing upbeat or funny going on. It just becomes more of the same and loses it's impact.

You can't really appreciate the darkness if you never turn the lights on, so to speak.

So is anyone else glad that

    spoiler involving Heimdall
That Loki didn't feel the need to say something like "You didn't see that one coming" when he froze Heimdall?

Yeah, that was a good thing.

I wish we could have gotten into
Loki's motivations a bit more. I didn't really feel like his desire to destroy Jotunheim really made a ton of sense. It seemed to just "turn on" all of a sudden; along with the ability of the Bifrost to act as a weapon.

    Nope.
As for Loki, it was him becoming reckless and desperate. He is the master planner and oh shit Thor is back and everything is ruined. Destroying Jotunheim is a crazy last-ditch effort to redeem himself in Odin's eyes despite the fact that Odin would probably hate it if he succeeded.

Also it was mentioned when Thor and friends went to Jotunheim that if the Bifrost was left open it would rip the world apart.

I'm not a fan of it either. Some of the pictures I've seen it just looks lumpy.

I bet it looks great in motion though.

I say this as a huge Captain America fan: Cap's costume is super goofy

the best it has been is Ultimate Captain America.

So the fact that they were able to turn it into something that looks practical, let alone totally awesome, is amazing.

The padding is armor because he is in the middle of world war II

You'll like the new costume he gets in the Avengers probably. Evans said it is more superhero-y.

They have said that they were going for realistic, practical WWII gear in the First Avenger costume.

    But see

that isn't the whole costume. The first costume is supposed to be very cheesy and spandex-esque

    His leather jacket covers it.

    (It is super badass though)

I'm not feeling it. It doesn't look pulpy at all. Ultimate Cap's World War II costume was good, the movie costume is silly looking.

There are some neat ideas for Cap costumes out there. Project Rooftop had a thing.

    Okay, let's talk Renner
Is it bad that I just imagine he's playing his character from The Hurt Locker?
Because it seems to work pretty much perfectly

And he sold me from the moment he said "you want me to slow him down, or you wanna send in more guys for him to beat up?

Also I continue to love Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson
It's like Coulson knows exactly what kind of story he's in and what's going to lead to the best outcome

    Especially
when he clearly sees that the "Donald Blake" identity is bullshit but gets that sly little smile and lets him go anyway
He was smart enough to realize there was a correlation between this crazy soldier hillbilly showing up, making a dead run for the hammer, and it going all crazy electromagnetic. Despite his threat, I think he realized he wasn't going to get anything out of Thor, so he rolled the dice and took the chance to see what would happen if he was released.
