Pretty sure you meant Urich, not Kingsley?

Woops.... I do. So used to associating Roderick Kingsley with Hobgoblin. I do in fact mean Phil Urich.

Why do all the hot comic girls hook up with ugly dudes?

Pyschology nerds help a fella out!

Pretty sure Urich will win Norah's heart by driving her absolutely crazy-flakes, a la Joker and Harlequinn.

    So there's that approach.

I'm guessing it's just Norah manipulating him to get the big story or some such. That's totally something she would do.

Yeah, there's a subplot in Big Time where Phil is filming himself, as Hobgoblin, committing crimes so he can pass the footage on to her, since she's doing Goblin-related news pieces. All part of his scheme to steal her away from her boyfriend.

Wasn't there pretty substantial talk that
Urich was going to wind up on T-Bolts at some point?

That would be cool if they could find some excuse to have him back in his Green Goblin gear, considering the friction it would cause with older members.

I can't imagine there would be a plausible explanation for that, though.

Plus he hasn't even been a super-villain for that long, he's probably not ready to start reforming just yet.

Reforming would mean depowering, since at this point it's pretty clearly the Goblin serum making him nuts

Im surprised there has been little mentioning of the main thing from the FCBD issue...
Shang Chi training Peter in martial arts, to help him develop an ACTUAL fighting style that isnt reliant on his now gone spider sense. That will be interesting to see develop. Plus there has been talk of Shang Chi appearing more in the series as part of the supporting cast.

    I loooooved it.

Peter learning some moves is a great thing and Shang-Chi is a favorite of mine. I love that he is rocking the slick costume he got in Secret Avengers.

"Way of the Spider" is a cool idea seeing as Pete's sans spider-sense. Plus him charging hotdogs to Stark cos hes an AVENGER! now was hilarious.

Doesn't Victoria Hand keep reminding Spidey he's a liability or some such cos of his super secret identity? Or at least there was banter to that effect at their family breakfast thing.

He revealed it to the New Avengers before the Heroic Age, no Hand.

I think the only super-teams that know Peter's identity are the FF and that team of New Avengers (Which was Luke, Bucky, Wolverine, Jessica, Ms. Marvel, Clint and Bobbi).

I wouldn't be surprised if Danny Rand and Matt Murdock know it too. Dr. Strange as well.

Murdock had made a big deal of NOT wanting to know it in ASM 600.

Yeah but Hand is the person he would have to tell to get paid

it doesn't matter if everyone else knows, she is the one who provides his paycheck

and there is no way in hell Peter would tell Norman Osborn's second-in-command his identity

Spider-Girl gets a new 3-issue mini-series, tying into Spider Island.
    Paul Tobin wrote:
It's a VERY different Spider-Girl that readers will encounter in the pages of Spider-Island: The Amazing Spider-Girl, as the strange outbreak of spider-powers infects her as well... but in very surprising ways. And when the Society of the Wasp declares full scale war on the new ‘army’ of the spider-powered, Spider-Girl surprisingly finds herself aligned with the Kingpin and Hobgoblin. Even more surprisingly she finds that, maybe...that's where she most belongs.

It might actually be kind of interesting if Spider-Girl went villain. She can be Phil's sidekick: Goblin-Girl.

I might. I'm not reading Avengers Academy, stopped reading Young Allies after the second issue, and am not really enjoying Spider-Girl, so I didn't see much point in picking it up. I'll take a look when I go back to the shop this Wednesday.

Avengers Academy just looks too dour for me to enjoy. Returning to that dumb Tigra/Hood stuff that I hated the first time around, really convinced me not to even bother getting the TPB. Which is a bummer, because I like Hank Pym, Speedball, and Tigra quite a bit, I typically enjoy Gage's writing, and I think McKone's art is really good.

But, it all seems to be convalescing into something that looks like something I don't want to read.

That recent prom issue looked fun, though.

    I

    I don't know man.

Those talking points and questions seem silly. The reason Spider-Man doesn't do stuff like set up shell companies and so on is because he doesn't, he's Spider-Man and he doesn't make money using his abilities because that is part of his character.

You might as well say "why don't people realise that Clark Kent is Superman under the glasses?" Because they don't, it's a genre convention there to allow that character to exist. Those questions are just holes being poked into the superhero genre, rather than exploring it.

That really does not impress me. Spider-Man as a more experienced hero teaching the kids from the Academy is a great idea, but it's been misused here, I think.

Man, I know I have been bitching on ASM lately, but the more I see of Big Time as it goes on the more it seems that it has just lost what made it so cool in the first few issues, and that bums me out.
