Hi.
I recently (yesterday) discovered PA which helped me get through a particularly boring work day, but when I got back to the page today I couldn't find where I left off.
I really like the feature that you have the option to click on- or search for keywords, but it's impossible to find the last strip you read and continue from there.

So; keep the keyword search, but please add a regular archive based on dates.

PS: I did a search for a topic like this but couldn't find one. Even though I suspect there's a fair few of them on this board somewhere :)

    As silly as it is, fans have given up on PA ever having a working comic archive and have created their own.

    Check out http://pipefour.org/pa/

    If you can't remember anything about the last strip you read, just leave the search field blank and hit search - it'll bring up every PA comic by date with the title and a thumbnail preview.

    I think the archive here works just fine as a search. Most comics are tagged properly.

    But I do agree that there should be a "date" drop down box. There used to be at one time but it vanished when the search archive came into play. Keeping both would have been preferred for me.

    Do you guys even have control over that part of the site? I thought all that mainsite stuff wasn't something the forum staff administered.

    Couldn't the date be part of the tag?
    Like all January comics under january tag
    all 2010 comics under 2010 tag

    I was thinking more like a dropdown list that displays comics per-month:

    And instead of 1149 comics tagged for "tycho", you'd get the 12-15 comics tagged for (month/year), with their thumbnails.

    Or possibly adding, say, "05/2010" as a searchable tag on the May '10 comics. Sure, you can enter dates into the URL and it'll take you there directly, but without thumbnails.

    You can still just put the date into the URL: If you want to see todays comic from 4 years ago, just plug in: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/5/17/ and voila, a comic turns up. If there is no comic for that specific date it just gives you the last comic before that (in this case you get the comic for May 16th 2007)

    If you want all the comics for May 2007, just put in http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/5/1/ and go from there.

    Easy to use. You automatically see where you left off. And you don't have to go around remembering what date you were on when you left the comic a week earlier!

    Indeed you are correct, it is supposed to be this comic:

    tram.jpg

    It's named tram.jpg, the large version is tramh.jpg, but I can't find a copy of the high rez file.
