Politics of Technology forum?

MKRMKR Registered User regular
Things that could go there:

* Jack Thompson/anti-game crusade(r) threads
* Discussion of changes in law relating to technology
* Maybe an ongoing thread/series of threads for discussion of This Week in Law podcasts (they're almost exclusively about technology and the law)
* Discussion of ongoing patent/copyright litigation
* Other discussion of politics and law as it relates to technology

So what say you, good people and staff of PA?

    Everything on your list except JT threads are currently welcome in D&D, and we sure don't need a forum just for Mr. Hompson.

    There are so many things going on in tech law that it would fill up a couple pages of D&D's topic list. A quick look at Groklaw will show a lot of topics that could be discussed in such a forum.

    and: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=patent&btnG=Search+News
    Also: http://politics.slashdot.org/

    Right now I don't see much of anything to do with tech politics in D&D or G&T.

    Why not start a general tech law thread in D&D, then? If by some chance that showed sufficient interest in the subject to support a subforum, you'd be in a much better position to make the case.

    That seems like a good idea. I'll go PM a D&D mod for approval.

    You don't need to ask before starting a thread, just read the rules and don't crap on them

    and we most definitely do not need a subforum for that stuff. DD is perfectly fine as it is.

    Yeah maybe if it becomes popular enough you'll get the honor (or shame) of being responsible for a new forum.
