I'm glad the forums are back up, but...

Looks like they aren't fixed yet. First topic I clicked on, 500 - Internal Server Error.

There was a steam sig here. It's gone now.

Looks like it was just that once, running smooth as a top now.

    Good job.

I've been getting them occasionally too, as well as the Opera re-load bug (now improved for us 9 beta users!).

Yeah, it looks like I spoke too soon. Getting it 1 out of 10 page loads.

Keep in mind we're still running on borrowed hardware. Hopefully, with the new hardware and any tweaks that Alpha does, we'll be good to go until the new forums come up.

this was the first topic I clicked as I came into the forums for the first time since they went down. And, unsurprisingly, I got a 500 error.

    Rather fitting actually.

Not bug free. I'm aware of the problem, but a solution will have to wait for another night.

I got the same error too, but I just clicked again, and it was like it never happened.

PS: I feel like the crash is my fault. I muster the courage to join this forum, and it crashes horribly. No matter; the incident is closed and I don't expect (after all the maintenance) that this will be a recurring thing.

It only gets really annoying once it double-reloads into a error 500.

I seem to get the 500 Internal Errors about 75% of the time I'm opening pages up. It's honestly become very annoying.

Also, only about 95% of all the pages are loading, the bottom part of "Reply", "New Topic", etc is missing.

I'm using the newest version of Opera.

Yeah, I'm getting a lot of the 500 errors too. And when I don't get them, the Opera reload bug gives 'em to me when the page loads a second time.

How soon until the new forum software is up and running?

Have you guys tried surfing with IE or Firefox?

Maybe I'm just getting lucky or something, but the 500 errors are hitting in brief cycles, for me. I'll be fine for awhile, and then, I'll get a few, refresh a few times, keep hitting them, and after about 15 seconds they're gone again. Really not that bad. This is with both IE and Firefox.

When the forums were down, the page Alpha put up said the new software would be created/installed over the summer.

    So, think long.

I've tried Firefox before, but I've been using Opera so long now, I just couldn't get used to the different quirks. IE, I can't really do without tabbed browsing. I know there's Avant Browser, but I haven't really gotten around to trying that yet.

    olol Firefox!!

Just kidding. This bug has been around for months now, right? I think Alpha created it for some sort of plot, involving RAND and the reverse vampires.

I can't seem to find any mention of it happening anywhere else, which means it's probably one of the wierd things Alpha's done to phpBB.

Oh, and using Opera the page sometimes changes to some random thread while I'm scrolling down. That's wierd also.
