Not sure why "f2p" is such a big deal. The game was what, like $5 before? And that only mattered to the 7 people on the face of the earth that didn't buy the orange box for some reason.
I'd be excited if the micro-transactions were actually, you know, micro, but they're not. Someone in the other thread was saying the pack of the new items was $100 fucking dollars and made it sound like a deal. Really? I can spend as much money as two brand new retail games to get a handful of powerful items to make killing the influx of newbies even easier? Sign me up.
The thing about the item store is that Valve treats it like a tip jar
You can get pretty much everything in the game from drops or trades or achievements, there's no reason to spend money at all unless you are wildly impatient
So Valve puts shit up there for ridiculous prices both to a) not make it completely easy for someone with twenty bucks to get all the rare hats/weapons, and b) to allow people to give Valve more money if they wanna
That was my point. About $20 would be what I'd consider a fair price for what is essentially an expansion pack. I don't care if they charge $5 or $25 for the cosmetic hats, but weapons that change gameplay should be cheap or free* in what is supposed to be a skill based game.
Free, in this case, means unlockable in a straightforward manner: achievements or bought with points of some sort. Not [play for hours and hope to get lucky].
I play tf2 to shoot mans for a couple hours, not because I want wow with guns.
Internet! I'm writing a slightly silly piece for a popular Games Blog (tm) and I want your feedback on whether "Saxt-on, wax off" works at all for describing the coaching feature in TF2.

anyone have a spare mad milk, bonk or trash weapons? I have a ton of paint and a description tag that I'm not using that I would rather see one of you mugs get
So, anyway, here's a bunch of crap on one my accounts that's up for trade. Everything, including the vintage items, are up for trade on this account. (Earbuds will be costly though) http://www.tf2items.com/id/ScottBot
I feel cheated by the Atomizer. It deals 10 damage to yourself anytime you triple jump, along with being utterly useless as an actual weapon.
Self-inflicts 10 damage should be in red text as a negative. I thought it dealt 10 damage to someone if you triple jumped on their head.
Your own lack of common sense left you hanging out to dry, yet again.
Yeah! Or maybe, positive weapon attributes are always in blue, and negative ones in red. Losing my own health for jumping is not positive. So fuck off.

Ugh. Bought a key, opened a new crate:
Strange Chargin Targe
Granted, it's better than opening up a series 1-18 crate and getting a backburner or something. Managed to trade the Targe for 1 refined before the hype dies down.
Posts
However, it does not make up for the stupidity that is the Tomislav.
Fun fact: you only build hype while the shotty's out, so you can sort of store it.

[strike]I want that fucking desert marauder bad.[/strike]
edit: heh.
Due to lag compensation their flame length is about twenty feet long.
I never evade it as a scout and never ignite scouts as a pyro.
i crafted my vintage frontier justice away
anyone have a spare?

"...only mights and maybes."
You can also switch to your other weapons and still get minicrits. The pistol becomes really, really good that way.
nope just gotta wait and pray
oh
wait
also the tomislav is such a nerd of a weapon
Also, for the Pyro's Detonator, what does "+25% damage to self" mean?
I wish TF2 had a mute function for text chat. There are people I wish would go away completely.
The Tomislav is destined for a powerful nerfing. Having Heavies who fire spontaneously defeats the point of being most anything else.
If you rocket jump, you will be mostly dead
Self-inflicts 10 damage should be in red text as a negative. I thought it dealt 10 damage to someone if you triple jumped on their head.
If you mute somebody you can't see their text chat

So it doesn't deal damage to me every time I fire it or anything like that?
No.
Your own lack of common sense left you hanging out to dry, yet again.
I have some and I painted them pink. I love them too much to get rid of though.
And all the hats on page 6 of http://www.tf2items.com/id/undeadscottsman are up for trade too.
I'm mainly looking for a Detonator, the new Demoman set, and the Spy Fez.

I'd give you some scrap or something for vintage frontier justice
I didn't even realize I had a spare one. What all falls under the "or something" category?
I don't suppose you have any Half-Zatoichi's?
