New forum request: options for disabling sigs

I don't know if anyone has asked for this before, but I'd love the option to not display sigs and/or avatars. Make the experience a little more streamlined, no?

    I think there was a av/sig-less CSS hack in the old CSS hacks thread.

    Dunno who made it, though.

    Ad-block does work rather easily, so its not too bad, just remember to disable it when you arent on the forums. Though this wouldnt be a problem if people didnt have over the limit sigs. Like these and ones similar with the random signiture to make reloading the same page even more annoying.

    Sigs rule! Get a bigger monitor, faster connection, more RAM, and a better graphix card maybe? :) Who wants to look at boring text all day without pictures?

    Or yeah, just disable images. If you're using IE, it go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia and uncheck "Show Images"

    It won't become a forum feature, I know that much. Someone requested something else in regards to being able to disable something or other and Alpha said that it would only mean more database usage for users. You're going to have to find some alternative method, which people are currently supplying so... yeah. :)

    Heh. Would you believe there was actually a short period in which sigs weren't displaying at all? Lots of people were saying it was better that way.

    IF you would try adblock, you would see that you dont have to block whole sites (although that is useful in certain cases). You can block single images if you want to.

    I suppose I could make a greasemonkey userscript for it in a while.

    If phpBB didn't have fucking horrible markup, I'd make it in five minutes.
