I've just never seen ultras do well against anything. Not even when Spanishiwa tried to nydus a bunch of ultra/queen/infestor straight into a good location!
Infested terrans can screw with ultra AI and zone out infestors from fungaling your roaches.
Roaches kite ultras really well.
Roach/hydra kills ultra for cost in stand-up fights.
Obv broodlords have a field day with Ultras and their AI.
Broodlords pretty much have a field day with every unit's AI, do they not? Most of the reason they are so scary is for me is that I have to manually kill each one, if you leave your army alone for a second you die.

Marines, stalkers, hydras... anything that size and smaller can pretty much squeeze around the broodlings and do their thing.
Not that it matters terribly much, bottom line is you're opting for a terrible ground-to-ground unit trumped by mid-tech + good micro instead of a potent air-to-ground siege unit.

I raped ultras with stalkers. I don't usually play protoss, and to be honest never face ultras so I don't know if that is supposed to happen. I did have blink, but I did not really use it well at that time.
He stormed me with roaches and ultras, and it looked like I would have the smaller army but it worked out really well.
Wolf's a nice enough guy but constantly puts his foot in his mouth.
e: "TAKING A LOT OF FREE HITS BEING INDECISIVE ON MOVE COMMAND" is probably the worst one. Says it all the goddamn time, rarely actually has anything to do with what's going on.

Inka was suggesting that you need immortals to deal with baneling drops, instead of rolling towards the fleeing stalkers, they crash into the immortal (15 hits to down it). Also, Broodlords are terrible in ZvZ, Corruptors can maneuver around fungal. Ultras are fricken awesome, you just have to baby sit them.

And with spinecrawlers it's close to impossible to break an ultra line with infestor support without air.

Guess the protoss had to fight it midfield, to gain more space to run or something?
