Recording the desktop video feed while streaming on a mac

So you know how Gabe will stream when he draws the comic? The way it's currently setup is by using uStream + Camtwist on his mac.

We are trying to figure out a way to record the camtwist video while it concurrently is uploaded to ustream, with the idea to host it on PATV afterward as opposed to forcing people to go to the ustream site. Any idea, anyone? thanks in advance.

    If the computer has the CPU power and a fast enough hard drive, you could always try running something like Screenflick at the same time.

    You can't use a quicktime video device with two programs at once, so once you started recording with iMovie, CamTwist would disappear from the device list on UStream (or vice versa).

    I think screenflick is your best bet. It doesn't use a lot of system resources (other than hard drive write speed, so you might want to give it its own hard drive) and it'll let the video posted to PATV be higher quality than whatever CamTwist's resolution is set to.
