    what episode was that :o

    Harley's Holiday

Otherwise known as the episode where Harley makes out with Batman.

Making out with Batman is a holiday for anyone.

This was a fun issue of Batman/Superman in spite of Ale Garza drawing every female character with a 6 inch waist

If they can get digital distribution off the ground, they'd probably be in much better shape, but yeah, they probably aren't going anywhere any time soon. But they're also incredibly unlikely to experience any real growth.

maybe i am missing something, but I don't understand why Marvel and DC don't do straight up comics on a web page. Charge whatever to get access, have different sections for the different titles, have the ads on the side-- money bath

So earlier in the thread it was mentioned Dick Grayson is going back to being Nightwing? That's kind of lame. Why are comic books so afraid of change?

basically DC thinks by setting most of their characters back ten years (or twenty, in Batgirl's case), they can attract new readers who will somehow hear about this and wander into comic book stores, wide-eyed and curious about this bold new direction

i wonder if it's not an expression of nostalgia for the experimentation and exciting new writers of the late 80s and early 90s

If non comic book readers are like me, a rare comic book reader, they basically want good stories that don't give a shit about continuity

just let the author tell whatever story they are interested in telling. Don't know if I'd ever read weekleys unless someone was doing a large self contained story that didn't have references to anything else that was going on in the DCU, there that's my opinion.

yeah but the past is a known quantity

not hard to see editors pining for certainty and a time when the industry was booming rather than struggling

    No, that's just standard procedure.

They can't undercut the print, or else businesses who distribute the printed books would have reason to stop carrying those books out of protest, and they'd lose a lot of potential print sales.

first off, you should read Morrison's Batman stuff because it is fantastic

second, DC didn't want to confuse people by having more than one Batman

which shits all over the Batman, Inc. story but them's the breaks

I will never understand when comic book companies say they don't want to do something because it would be "too confusing."

I just want to pull up like, a wiki entry on any comic book character and make them read it.

Not really. Having different Batmen from around the world appear in one book is one thing

Having six Batman titles and 2 are featuring Bruce Wayne and 4 are featuring Dick Grayson is confusing.

Plus, story wise, Dick never wanted to be Batman. He only did it because somebody had to and the other choice (Jason Todd) was awful. As soon as Bruce showed up he said "I am ready to go back to being Nightwing"
