A modern event is built around crossing over multiple characters into one singular storyline, usually via a main miniseries and several tie-ins.
Planet Hulk was really really great but if it is an event then the Stark Resilient arc of Invincible Iron Man is an event or Brubaker and Fraction's Iron Fist.
there were so many great ideas and then they did nothing with them. Like, the idea that Harvey Dent had become the protector of Gotham while Batman was gone and then he becomes Two-Face again like 2 fucking issues into OYL. Come the fuck on.
And that abortion of a Flash relaunch, which was so bad that it had to be immediatley rebooted again and then that reboot was still bad.
Also, I'm probably the only person that liked the number of the beast and worlds end wildstorm crossover events that that shut down that whole universe. Shame, there were some good-ass books there down the years
the early Cassandra Cain, when she was only able to express herself through fists into faces and her book was this awesome mix of action and trying to make sense of her new life, were ridiculously good. She was basically the very essence of batman in girl form, no silly stories, just ass kicking. Then writers decided to make her story dumb and overly complicated And give her the usual comictard bloat and that's that
Posts

What spring does with the cherry trees.
and it tied in to the New Avengers: Illuminati one shot!
also I don't have a top 5 events because I didn't even like 5 events

52
Anihilation
Planet Hulk
Sinestro Corps War
Seven Soldiers
Identity Crisis
Civil War Frontline
Infestation

I just remember picking up the batbooks and being like "hey, wonder what they did with Cassandra Cain" and whelp

I mean she is kinda cool but jesus so many rabid rabid fans on the internet
I don't but I get why some people do
Though yeah some people really are rabid about it
I'm happy to see them fleshing out the 52 ongoings with minis for characters that couldn't really support an ongoing.
How do you know if Image United won't end up being the best thing ever? The last issue hasn't even come out yet!

did you see that Solar
I put a Mark Millar comic in the #1 spot.
if you love superheroes how could you not
it is the perfect superhero story, it's everything that is grand and wonderful about the genre.
Plus OYL brought us Blue Beetle
I still find it very hard to believe it is good
Fool me once, as they say.
As for Cass I can't put my finger on it but something about her irritates me
She was a hot girl, could fight like batman and DID NOT TALK.
Then she started talking.
I'm not saying thats my opinion...I still like her dispite the crap they did with her. But its probably pretty close to the truth.
Also, batgirl, robin, and detective were my fave books for years, so yeah
Also that's like saying all robin fans are pedos
Are they?
I'll admit that
