so I'm in New York, and more specifically right next to the theatre district!

I plan on seeing one show a night until I leave, and I already did Memphis tonight

I'm not quite sure what else I'll be heading to, but I did have the foresight to get tickets to

the-book-of-mormon-poster-01.jpg

, otherwise known as the show that's sold out till like September next year and apparently the best musical of EVER

so let's talk about broadway, and plays, and acting!

You bastard. My brother wanted tickets for that for his birthday (yesterday).

Last thing I saw was Catch Me if you Can, and it was pretty good.

fair enough, but I do maintain that the South Park movie is one of the best movie musicals ever made, so I may be in touch with their brand of Broadway

Wanted to find time for Mormon some time this Summer so badly but it's really not looking like it will pan out. :(

Sucks double because I actually know one of the Tony nominees. Rory O'Malley is from Cleveland was in my parish's youth group.

I certainly won't deny they do that, Antimatter, and I know there's been a lot more of that the past few years but it certainly isn't all they've ever done.

I haven't watched in a long time but South Park had some pretty fantastic seasons and it has stayed relevant WAY longer than anyone would have thought after the first season.

We put on The Scarlet Pimpernel last fall for our bi-annual musical at my school.

And since we won't have a musical this fall that means we're going to have a ton of other plays we'll be working on

well if you're going to be offended by things I don't really think it'd be a good idea to see the book of mormon?

but from what I understand it's pretty even handed and doesn't just shit on things for the sake of shitting on them (which I've noticed as being the case in south park most of the time as well, so)

Yeah I don't even really like the show (well not since the first few seasons) but the South Park film is pretty fantastic. The music is genuinely solid.

I was in New York only once, eleven years ago, for one week. While I was there with family, we saw one broadway show.

    It was Miss Saigon.

    it was completely amazing.

@YaYa you're supposed to send out an alert to pertinent parties when you make these threads, you know that!

I have very much been enjoying The Book of Mormon since the album was released and I am ferociously jealous that you're seeing it.

My favourite song is this one:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxAbw7L-jjY

But it probably requires the rest of the show's context to be really funny.
