It’s not for everybody, I understand that; but if you’re gonna cosplay, man, fucking do it. Go for the brass ring. That’s a real costume we saw, and his golden hoop gleamed not only with light, but with heat.
HEAT.
I don’t have a picture of him, but I do have Kiko’s incredible shot from Sakuracon that is drawn from the same milieu, and it always warrants another look.
I came back this year with a wheelbarrow of furry smut, like I typically do at these things. I think it's because the furz0r think that it will be funny to ask me if I want some, and I unequivocally do, which generally leads to some awkward side-steppinf and floor-looking on their part. I want all pornography, all day. I never want to not have it. It may be that I’m outside the accepted diagram on this, but I find that kind of thing profoundly educational, and it is educational at a rate inversely proportional to its carnal appeal. I hope that I live to see alien pornography; I’ve held forth on the topic multiple times, and the thought of conscious molecules swapping electrons generates so much lust I have to bite down on a knuckle to vent it. I would link to the stuff I got,but I'd rather that people didn't fuck with him. If a Tiger-American wants to chase a fox around a football field with his dick out, it’s like, score. I wasn’t going for the sports pun especially, but if it improves the paragraph for you, it's yours.

Also, I figured that someone, somewhere must have got this guy in a picture at some point. So I did a GIS for "tails cosplay SDCC". The results were less than satisfactory.
So I went with the less specific "tails cosplay" and the first result is this, the adorablest of cosplays:

I love this.
It's perfect. Also, I am certain that everyone feels this way, regardless of how loudly they protest.
Thousands of hot, local singles are waiting to play at bubbulon.com.
And now I'm curious about why there is an Undertaker symbol behind the sonicguy.
This. Does Sonicguy routinely cheer on the Dead Man? Does he possess replica title belts? MUST KNOW

I prefer bad cosplay to no cosplay. Sexy Tails is not bad though nor is that guy dressed up as Amy from Sonic (I am guessing). Sonic guy could use some blue makeup.
A lot of guys in skimpy female cosplay outfits just seem to be trolling for attention, and really, is anybody who's been to a con more than once that shocked anymore? At this point i'm more annoyed by worn-out EW GROSS COSPLAY jokes than I ever could be by some guy's beer belly and hairy legs.

I crossed the Man-Faye barrier years ago.
Once you've seen Man-Faye, crossplay (crossdres-cosplay, is that a recognized portmanteau or did I make that up myself?) is no big deal.

At first I felt bad that I had to look up "pondiferous". But apparently Jerry made it up, so I'm okay now.

It is not original to you, but it is a good and useful term in any case.

If a little kid does it, is it even called cosplay? Like, if you cosplay without knowing the word cosplay, are you still cosplaying, or are you just wearing a costume?
"That man is playing Galaga! He thought we wouldn't notice. But we did."
I think dudes dressing up in lady cosplay are funny. I think lots of you are a little too uptight about this stuff.
A few years ago at PAX prime, there was a dude in a Princess Peach costume that was fantastic.
I think I have seen this brave man. Was he with a girl dressed as Lara Croft? My thought process was thus "Wow, that's a really good Peach costume, instantly recognizable, but the face is a little...oh wow that's a man." Inwardly, I slow-clapped.

I was at an expo last month and tweeted about some pretty rough cosplayers. I used the expo hashtag, and I guess some guy called me out on it saying "not everyone can be a toothpick and I think it's great people are getting into the spirit of things at the expo". Yeah, it made me feel like a dick, but if scoffing at the horrible attempts at putting together a costume for an expo isn't part of the "spirit of things", then what is?

I don't really see how a dude cosplaying as a female character for a gag is trolling anyone in this day and age. If seeing a dude in drag bothers you that much, maybe you should stay comfortably ensconced in your conservative enclave where you don't have to be exposed to ideas and images that challenge your primitive beliefs.

While scanning DeviantArt for Tails art to toss into Mr. Fusion for the 1.21 jigawatts necessary to launch a comic edit, I came across this Sonic and Tails cosplay instead. It seemed well-done enough, or maybe that's because I'd been scanning through DeviantArt for a while by that point. The image I did use for editing isn't showing up on search anymore for some reason but it's still there on the site.
But is there an actual canon female version of Tails, or is the bikini costume option generally used to portray him as-is?

This is why I don't understand why the dudes who try to get attention with skimpy crossplay think anybody's actually going to care. Anybody who's been to a con, practically anybody who's even heard of a con, is aware of the phenomenon. But there never seems to be a shortage of people to post OMG MAH EYES CAN'T UN-SEE every time cosplay comes up in an internet discussion .
It naturally varies by the individual. Some male crossplayers I've seen were just having fun. Others were clearly expecting and working for attention. But really this is where cosplay in general gets annoying; if you want to make a cool costume and dress up like a character for fun, great, more power to you, but don't expect everybody to make much of you or go into it with that as your goal.

As in any large group of people, there will be people who are socially inept and can't tell the difference between receiving positive and negative attention.
However only at anime and comic conventions do we let those people get on stage:
I want nothing more than to wade into that group of people, armed with a lump of wood with a nail in it. Or maybe two. Nails, not lumps. It would be a kindness, in the end.

By "conservative enclave" do you mean everywhere on earth outside the convention?
I just don't want to see gross hairy dudes wearing clothes too small for them and unsightly bulges. However, I also know it's just my opinion and they're free to do whatever they want. I can just put on my big boy pants and ignore it and they can enjoy themselves and we're all happy.

I'm fairly certain there were *two* male Chun-Li's at Pax East this year.

In fact, I like that.
Lets do that more often.
In fact, lets make that mandatory.
