So... new words go directly into the dictionary without being used before hand?
I'm not much of a prescriptivist or a descriptivist. I consider myself more of a rescriptivist; I think changes to our language should be made, but they should be made thoughtfully and intelligently. So I have no problem with inventing new words as needed (see: rescriptivist), as long as it's done well.
I'm not sold on fattist, though. It doesn't really fit the pattern. Being biased against black people doesn't make you blackist, it makes you racist. Being biased against old people doesn't make you oldist, it makes you ageist. Being biased against women doesn't make you womenist, it makes you sexist.

I'm not sure how I missed this comic thread to be honest.
Making fun of bad cosplay is hilarious, but yeah if you actually get upset about this stuff or want people to stop you should probably look at your life, look at your choices.

The enforcers wearing utilikilts is almost certainly a carryover from the tradition of enforcers wearing them at PAX prime and probably has nothing at all to do with Boston.
Just gonna confirm this. I lived in the Boston area for 23 years and change and never once saw a Utilikilt until I attended PAXEast 2010.
I did attend school with a young gentleman who rocked a traditional-style kilt every day and that didn't bother me. Dude pulled it off.
I still can't really take a dude seriously if they think marrying a pair of cargo-shorts to a kilt is a respectable piece of attire.

Think of the pockets
no I just can't be bothered to give a fuck about fat acceptance, and this discussion is off topic anyway
Don't forget to wear a vest with pockets, and a fanny pack.
