After what feels like an eternity, we finally have our new server boxes!
Well, we will. They are shipped and I have a tracking number to follow religiously. There are six, count em', six new machines we are going to be using here at penny arcade. One of the five is actually a combination of two of our existing servers into our new "main" server. The other five will be used as load balanced nodes to serve up the website very, very, quickly.
There might be some downtime as we move everything over to our new machines. I'll keep you posted.

I am giving Alpha the time of his life.
If he'll let me.

So once the new shit gets here, is that when you're going to fix the Opera-refresh/never-finishing-loading bug(s)? Or is that an artifact of the old box? Or will you take care of that once you're done porting everything over to the new hardware? Or something else?
Also, hooray.

That is an artifact of the old box. When we make the switch over that should disappear immediatly, if it doesn't I'll file a ticket and fix it soon after.

It's actually just 6 Commodore 64's connected with bubble gum.
Duct tape, not bubblegum. :P
You go, Alpha.
Running on anything less than 6 servers is a disgrace to your viewers, Alpha, and you should be ashamed.
Hell, webpages I serve up on our internal LAN here at the office are powered by a 73-node supercomputer, and that's only to a dozen people.
If he'll let me.
Boo for puns.

Making big changes on comic days makes my blood pressure rise.
