Well, I'm trying to connect, and it says I connected to an access point but was unable to connect to Nintendo WFC.
I don't really have this problem with Mariokart, what would make this different? By the way, I was able to connect, but not get into a game earlier today after a few tries.
I will admit, we do need discussion to see if the current timetable is good enough right now, or if we should change it around to suit the needs of the majority.
I'll quite likely be up for Tetris, since I have most people in that thread added to my FC list, and probably for Mario Kart, too. Not sure about Metroid. I don't have anyone's codes from there, and...
What should we do for this Saturday/Sunday? Metroid and Tetris? Those seem to be the most sought after games with actual multiplayer right now. Metroid because of its F&R problems and Tetris because of a low userbase.
Also, should we do "Saturday and Sunday: Metroid and Tetris (Your Choice)" or something like "Saturday: Metroid. Sunday: Tetris"? Either way, we'll still change the games up each week.
It would be nice if there were more than 2 people who have Tony Hawk, though I don't think more than 2 can join in one game.
I have Tony Hawk also, but I couldn't find it in all the boxes around here I've still got Mario Kart and Metroid out though so I'm totally up for those on Monday and Wednesday!

Perhaps doubling up the games, i.e. 2 per night wasn't such a bad idea after all. It would mean more people would be around and maybe it might attract more attention to the lesser-played games (tony hawk Im looking in your direction)

Also, just to let you guys know that I'm working on a bot for the ds IRC channel (#paforums_nds). My idea is that you can register your friend codes with the bot. The bot will also have a setting so it knows the current active games for that night. Then you can just log into the channel and send it a command: it would give you a list of the friend codes for those people currently in the channel for that night's games. That should make it really easy for anyone to join us for some DS fun.
Let me know what you think. I'm just modifying another bot I wrote a few weeks ago so I'll have a working example by early next week

Yeah, I'm thinking two games a day might be the better way to go, but I'm curious to see how this week will go when we all focus on one game a day, especially with Metroid due to its match-making problems. I wonder if this will overcome it.
In the meantime, I'll try to come up with a way to decently split two games a day evenly.
There were Bleach players last night. There are always Bleach players. There are Bleach players right now. They're just in a different channel on a different network. I'll try and encourage them to at least idle in the #paforums_nds channel.

IMHO, the whole point is to have a set time where a bunch of people all playing the same game, and I think a lot of DS owners are going to have more than one of the WFC games, so forcing them to choose only splits up the potential number of players.
For example, I've been eschewing Mario Kart for Metroid and Tetris lately, but if I'm free Monday night I'm definitely sitting down and playing some MK with you guys.
And kitFrog, that bot sounds fantastic -- automation is what can add to the convenience. I've been fooling around with the .NET app from friendcodes.com, and it doesn't want to play nice with my router but the theory of the application is perfect.
I'm not saying two games each day is the better choice. I'm just saying it's possible. But to know that, we'd have to have the one game a day we have now to know that for sure. The two games over the weekend can help show the two games a day part (unless we go with one game on saturday, one on sunday like I also mentioned before).
I will be busy tonight, but otherwise I'd be totally down. I'm back in an MP:H mood (just got off my ass and beat the single-player today) -- there was a Metroid tourney at Nintendo World, and I didn't enter but I did manage to beat one kid who was Traceing and terribly good with the Imperialist while waiting in line to meet Reggie.
We were playing single-cart, so he was Trace and the rest of us were Samus. Besides the Trace kid, I think the other two had never really played the game before, but everyone kept making excuses and whines whenever they got killed. And the first thing the Trace kid did when I beat him was go into his profile and see how many points he lost.
BTP: As a suggestion, do you think changing the thread title each day to say what game is Gaming On would be a good idea, or would that be too confusing?
Quick update on the IRC channel: there is now a bot in the channel called DS_Bot which will service all your friend code needs You can see the list of available games by typing @games. To add your friend code for a game just type @addcodegame code. If you try to add a code for a game which you have already registered a code for it will just update it for you. Finally, @gameongame will display the list of codes for that game.
Hope you guys find it useful... Once my intarwebs are connected again (hopefully before mario kart monday) then I'll join you guys for some fun
