Your foe is well equipped, well-trained, battle-hardened. He believes his gods are on his side. Let him believe what he will. We have the tanks on ours.

uh pip
sometimes your foe also has actual gods on his side and also his gods touched his tanks

krieg is a goddamn death world
there are things there that are scarier than warp monsters
I'm pretty sure Krieg is a Dead World
like, a world that basically got burned to dust for some unnamed heresy and the deathcorps are trying to make up for it by being batshit insane in combat
Basically the leaders on Krieg tried to secede and the loyalist nuked the place to death then stuck around.
And Catachan is a deathworld where the local fauna was so deadly, Tyranids landed and basically went "Whelp! Not much we can do here." and just kinda settled down.
It's Ankh Morpork for alpha predators and bioweapons.

you know what's hilarious
the Giant Bomb guys are trying to get in to the WH40K fiction and they talk about it on their podcasts, and their little revelations about it are great
"...and the Emperor has to eat, like, a 1000 psychic people a day."
and then horus looks at this guy so hard it just kills him all the way forever, and the emperor then realizes that man horus has gone all the way evil I gotta stop this shit

Edit: Fuck.
well, it's slaanesh, so everywhere
even the inside parts
Also, he's with chaos, so he's cowardly and his armor is made of tinfoil.
The Uplifting Infantry Primer wouldn't lie to me.
Why I fear the ocean.

Krieg is a deathworld because they were heretics

"What? like, physically eat them?!"
"I don't know!"
"Isn't he dead at this point?"
"I DON'T KNOW!!"
"I BROKE YO SHIT!"
what's the point, it's all meaningless in the end /Nurgle'd
My favourite thing is playing Dawn of War II after getting into the 40k RP stuff and hearing Deathwatch being referred to in the game
I'm sure it's probably mentioned in the codices for Space Marines but I wouldn't really know
later read a split off book where that whole unit gets slaughtered on a desert continent by Chaos air power
welp
anything important happen with them yet
Still have great models.
Still wish I had a squad of those models to paint.
