This thread motivated me to finally close my Dish account. Been meaning to do it for months, but there, now that it is done, I am a netflix-only household. The only thing I'm likely to miss is Mythbusters.
Discovery.com has tons and tons myths separated out into chunks. Like, several hundred. You can arrange them in playlists or you can choose from premade playlists.
not like webcams, I mean like high def, sports event quality cinematography, uninterrupted and live banging
let's find some VCs for this shit, we're taking it all the way
"Uninterrupted." You know how football is like 45 seconds of line-up and flag waving and fouls called for every 10 seconds of play time? How do you think porn is shot?
fuck that, we're reinventing the paradigm here
look at how big amateur has gotten, people don't need fancy editing and choreography, they need raw porn, like nature intended
we've got a thing here, people
You'll be the C-SPAN of the porn world.
there is no advantage to watching live porn, I already know how it ends

@SonicRetard
Thanks for that. I use an xbmc setup to watch stuff on my TVs (like you I have slim-frontends attached to each TV in my house), and a little searching got me a compatible Boxee rss string to be able to stream their stuff. I like whole episodes better, but this will do.
So my family is cutting our cable subscription in two weeks. Feels good man
seriously, its gonna save us like $100 a month which is 1200 a year which is a lot of fucking money
I built an HTPC a couple years back. No Netflix or Hulu here, but freeview is HD over DVB-T with most decent shows within a few months of release. It wasn't until I started viewing what I wanted when I wanted with no ads that I realised how little TV I actually enjoy viewing. I can go weeks without watching any TV at all these days, just sitting down and binging for an evening on half a season all at once every couple of months. Although I suspect half of that is because I detest almost everything my wife watches.
Still, considering I have no account, no subscription, and no costs of any kind other than initial outlay, I'm pretty satisified with my low-cost TV option.
once I get rid of the box I will forever be free from the fucking bad girls club. It is an existence I look forward to
The only thing I wish is that the PS3 had a better browser. Shows that you can only get through the channel's website never quite load right and it makes me sad to miss Top Shot or have to watch it on my dopey computer monitor.

I very rarely watch TV, its only by accident, have no netflix or hulu etc etc and that's the way it has been for nearly half a decade. It's no biggie

It would be nice if they finally got rid of the archaic and irrelevant Nielsen ratings.
who the fuck cares? I never had a TV in my own room when I was a kid, and since I moved out I didn't even have a tv, and neither do my 2 roommates
TV is for switching off your brain after work, and for that I use the internet

TV is passive, internet is active, how can you switch off your brain on the internet? Or do you mean via streaming shows, which was the point of the OP?

I'd say most of the content on the internet is still pretty passive.

This suits your name so well.
There hasn't really been a decent sonic game since Adventures 2.
Sonic Rush on the DS was pretty good.
I'd say most of the content on the internet is still pretty passive.
And the rest is just passive aggressive.
