I think it is more a case of having two exams and work today. You can't blame the side of the earth that brought you such classics as Invasion of the Neptune Men!

You know, there have been several worse movies technically than The Starfighters.
But that film is just tedious, boring, and (as is often pointed out) nothing happens. Like, there's not a nugget of a decent movie in there. It's not salvageable.
Joel is awesomer than Mike but Bill Corbett will always be Crow. Not to denigrate Trace Beaulieu, but he just isn't really Crow just like Chris Pine isn't really Kirk.
wait have you not seen godzilla vs the sea creature, @grey ghost?
close that shit right now and pop it on

First actual sighting of MST3K for me was in a Suncoast video store in the mall
It was playing on one of the TVs in there, some episode I've still never seen in which there's some kind of chariot race in ancient rome and every once in a while they'd show a crowd reacting and Joel and the Bots would go "and the crowd goes wild" with the most unenthusastic "yaaaaaaay" following
I was eight years old and asked the register jockey what it was
I've never seen some of this behind the scenes stuff before. this is great stuff.

I was house sitting with my mom over the Summer when I turned on Comedy Central (which we didn't get yet)
And there was Hercules vs. The Moon Men
And my whole life took a dramatic turn

well I grew up watching late-era Mike-era MST3K on sci-fi. I mean I saw some earlier stuff: we had Mitchell on VHS and I watched that a bunch of times - but I grew up watching mostly Corbett-era stuff so it makes sense that Trace's Crow just sounds weird to me. Not bad, but weird.
("you grew up with Mike but you prefer Joel?" Well Joel is just so sleepy eyed and laid back and charming!)

Shouldn't this be the other way around? Trace was Crow for almost exactly 75% of the series. Bill was fine and all, but he just wasn't "Crow" to me. He was like, the B-list Crow.
Whomever commented on Mike as head writer: I think he got the job halfway through season 1. On the Satellite News website, they're currently working on a very thorough episode guide and I think it was some random episode in Season 1 where he started getting that credit. I might be misremembering, though: he might've joined the writing staff partway through Season 1 and been upgraded to Head Writer at the start of Season 2. My memory is hazy.
Man, I love this show. Reminds me of my good school buddy who recently died from cancer. We watched the crap out of MST3K together. Some of our favorites were Mitchell, Final Justice, Final Sacrifice, The Puma (Pyooma?) Man, Teenagers From Outer Space, Manos, and Riding With Death.
