It seems like this post is appropriate for this thread. If not, I apologise in advance.

So, I bought a Wifi USB Connector...and the installation software won't finish.

What happens is, following the instructions step by step, I run the setup.exe and alls well. It installs the drivers fine, but once it gets to the "Internet Sharing" step I recieve an error message with the following:

"Please connect the Wifi USB Connector."

Problem is, it's connected. It always has been.

I've tried: Nintendo's Wifi website troubleshooting (no help). Using updated installation software I downloaded from Nintendo (the same problem occurs). Restarting the computer. Taking down my firewall. Turning off Windows Explorer. Using different USB ports. Unpluging then repluging the USB Connector, and calling Nintendo's troubleshoot hotline. Unfortunatly, I called after working hours, so they referred me to the website.

No help.

I was wondering if any of you could help out, or maybe have experienced a problem with this before? Anything like it?

CLIFF NOTES VERSION:

Wifi Connection install software won't finish. Nothing within reason works. Help.

I think at that point, you're supposed to take your NWC-using game, go into NWC Settings, and go to Connect to your Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector.

If I'm completely wrong, trying using the cable that came with your USB Connector and continuing onward. I'm using the idea of what we all used to do when trying to play an NES game and blowing wouldn't work so we plugged in our Game Genie and it suddenly worked fine.

If that doesn't work, well, I hope your USB Connector isn't physically damaged.

Thanks for the response. I tried to connect using the DS and whatnot...funny thing is, the DS sees the Connector I just can't connect because I can't "allow/verify" the connection through the WiFi application (which failed to install) on the computer. Thus, there is no physical problem with the USB connector...it's the install.

After quite literally trying everything, I've found one thing I CANNOT do. I can't turn on my Internet Sharing capablity because Windows says it's corrupted. Logic would say this has to be the problem, but I'm still hesitant. Tomorrow I'm going to borrow my woman's bother's external HDD and save files I need...then compeletly reinstall windows...

If this doesn't work I'm going to get all up on my PC with a baseball bat and blow torch. At least I can play Trauma Center to ease the frustration.

It's more that I'm so bad at Tetris I may as well bat my face against the touch screen instead of attempting to play than because I'm worried about my (ever dimininishing) score.

I lost against some guy with a Wifi rating of 500-something. I thought I was good at Tetris until this generation came 'round and invited thousands of gamers worldwide to kick me in the crotch.

EDT = Eastern Daylight Time. Therefore, EST = Eastern Standard Time = GMT - 5 hours.

If you're still not sure on this, it is the zone covered by the letter R.

I work nights too. I tried, but did not succeed, in setting up the WiFi USB connector on one of the work PCs at my job. I'm guessing the corporate firewall is preventing it from working. ;_;
