Bottom line? Until you figure out who burned you... [Burn Notice]

The series title refers to the burn notices issued by intelligence agencies to discredit or announce the dismissal of agents or sources who are considered to have become unreliable. When spies are burned, their connection to an espionage organization is terminated, leaving them without access to cash or influence. According to the narration during the opening credits, the burned spy has no prior work history, no money, no support network – in essence, no identity.

Hello. If you have found this thread, I applaud you for learning how to read. If you have any experience in espionage you'd know that information is power. What you do with that information, can decide whether you win or lose. Whether you remain a spy or get burnt. Former CIA-agent Michael Westen is an example of taking too many risks, resulting in a less than foreboding situation. He lost everything he had, with no immediately feasible way of getting it back. But, after digging through countless files and interrogating it out of mostly untenable people for the last 5 years, he has finally zeroed in on the specific individual who burnt him.

K5M01.jpg

Notice: This man is currently blackmailing Westen into working for him.

Will it take another 5 years for Michael Westin to return his life to normal? We'll see, I guess.

Season 6, Tonight at 10 EST

Last night I watched "Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe."

For a made for TV movie I enjoyed it.

I honestly prefer this show when it does it's single contained story

It's always more fun. Either that or I just don't care who burned him.

I don't know how I feel about Jesse having joined the cast.

He broke the 'over-40' rule they had going on...

I like how in the summer premiere, they had to make mention of Sam's physique, since he had to lose so much weight for the movie

I still hold out that the best episode of the series is when Michael is in a bank robbery.

Coming in second is when Michael pretended to be Satan.

You and me, we agree. Oh God, they both are the things that I love about Burn Notice.

But this season has been extremely bleh. Particularly because they aren't like those two episodes at all.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Snapping your fingers and having something explode is number one on the things I want to see people do in media.

That and having someone believe anything you say as long as you end it with, "Trust me I'm a doctor."

The last couple seasons have been more about how and why Michael Westen was burned and him getting revenge, instead of the usual show where he's being paid to get revenge for other people. A lot of people prefer when it's not about him, and more about how he improves other people's situations. It's been 50/50 so far this season.

Laughing at Bruce Campbell's chin always feels like laughing at Michelangelo's David or Adagio for Strings.

Sure, you can, but it's always bitter and hollow. You're laughing at a work of art that surpasses anything you could do, when you should just be in awe.

So I started watching this last week when I was channel surfing. I gotta ask; is the show supposed to be intentionally cheesy and campy? Is that the big joke here?

If so they did a hell of a job.

Are you really asking whether or not a show with Bruce Campbell in it is intentionally campy?

Can anyone tell me if they've finally killed off Fiona yet?

This seems to be the most recent Burn Notice thread? Ok, well new season starts in less than 24 hours.

Also apparently USA did some kind of fan vote on the show's new intro:

The choices were either a slightly updated version of the normal intro (uses new footage, adds Jesse to the monologue) or...well, something different.

The vote is already closed, but I guess we'll figure out what everyone picked tomorrow night.

The best part of that episode is...
...at the end when he is in handcuffs and then he snaps his fingers just before the explosion even though nobody is looking at him.

So looks like the fan vote for the new intro picked...
The updated version of the regular intro, instead of that new A-Team thing.

Also, apparently the actor that plays Michael Weston gave an interview or something recently where he said (season spoiler):
A main cast member is supposed to die this season.

    So then (actual premiere spoilers):
I had assumed it would either have to be his mom or Jesse (even though Jesse is just now finally being added to the opening credits), but they did get me thinking Sam may have actually died in that explosion. Since he didn't, I'm still sticking with either Jesse or his mom.

All in all for the premiere, it didn't feel like the plot moved forward very much from the last finale.
