Hey hey, remember this game? Well hold on to your horses kids, because this game may actually finally be coming out soon! Oh yeah. You better believe it. The date on Amazon right now is 11/1 and that may or may not change, but the game has been held up by Microsoft cert. No longer! If you check the add-ons section of the game marketplace and look under O you will see Otomedius there. There's a compatibility download there for playing with people buying from gamestop who get a Vic Viper to use. I can only take this to mean that cert has been passed and soon spaceship anime boobs will be bouncing into stores.
I have this saved on Amazon...can't decide if I should get it for my friend or not. I don't even have a 360.
GameStop gets the exclusive ship and some DLC apparently? It has a picture of the pillow case, but it doesn't list it...think it still comes with that? Deciding if Vic Viper is worth driving to the store and paying tax...
I will walk in to Gamestop with my work attire, business pants, shoes and polo shirt and purchase the game. If any employee gives me guff about my purchase, I will remind him he works at Gamestop and be on my merry way.
My Gamestop gave me Deathsmiles CE without batting an eye. When one worker asked what it was, I mearly said "Y'know Ikaruga? Its one of those!" And went on my merry way. I still have it.
Things to expect when buying this game at Gamestop:
1. You walk up to the counter and say you want a copy of Otomedius.
2. The clerk asks you to repeat the name of the game because he's never heard of it. You say the name a little louder, "OTOMEDIUS", people in the store begin to look.
3. The clerk opens the drawer and pulls out the game. He looks at the cover and then gives you a look of disgust.
4. You hear the murmurs of the people around you as you pay for the game, then you sheepishly make your way out of the store.
5. You walk outside the door and are stopped by mall security. It turns out the clerk triggered the silent alarm. You are then escorted to a police car.
There are multiple straight up pedo bait games in the 3DS's pipeline in Japan. I don't think any of them have a chance of coming over but you never know.
I would feel shame if I weren't an anime. However seeing as I am I must be among my own kind. If I don't purchase anime games it will kill me.
Also Senran Kagura still might! Just give Aksys or Nisa some time. Now Galgun? That game is never coming out here. That's a game you would have to feel shame purchasing. Otomedius is nothing compared to that.

At the rate it keeps getting delayed you might never get it because it won't ever come out. I will not be surprised at all if 11/1 ends up turning into 1/24 by the end of next week.
I don't want to cause a panic, but if gamefaqs is to be believed, and if you're going to trust them on anything then make it an obscure game nobody cares about, then 11/1 is actually the date it's coming out. I'm shocked too. However when I'll get it is still a mystery since Amazon never offered release day shipping due to the delays and I'm stuck with free shipping. So it'll probably take me another week to get it.
This past Saturday I asked a couple of Gamestop employees when my Otomedius CE is coming in. He checked his little computer and told me "November....question mark."
Amazon is temporarily out of stock on this game now. Mine still has yet to ship, but maybe it's still too early. Now I ordered my copy back in July. If they tell me that I have to wait for another shipment I'm going to be pretty angry at them and will send them an e-mail asking them what the fuck, you had months to make sure to get enough copies.
Some gamefaqs people said it was more of an "arrange" patch. Like it wasn't any harder or easier, just different. I guess they also changed the sound effects and stuff. I take it with a grain of salt because gamefaqs posters cannot be trusted, and every time I went there for any information on the game's release it made my head hurt. At any rate if that patch isn't up for us day 1 then we probably won't get it for a month or possibly ever.

EDIT2:Electricboogaloo: Called Gamestop, had to spell the game out for him. The guy said it should come in today when they get their shipment in and their computers say today is the release date. Heres hoping.
If people start getting it tomorrow and Amazon is still asking me to wait up to 3 months then that's when I'm going to message them. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt right now though and not message until people are actually playing the game.
This game is never coming out. If Amazon screws me though I'm considering moving the money from this over to SR3 and just picking the game up in a store. I didn't pre-order so no Vic Viper, but oh well. I'm still waiting though, because there still isn't anybody that has the game, and last night Amazon went from 1-3 months to 5-8 weeks.
Oh snap, my order is shipping soon. I guess it really did come out thursday. Thank goodness Amazon seems to be coming through, because I really didn't want to pay money for this game. I'm just using gift card funds, and I don't feel bad buying it that way. Cash though? Maaaaaaan I dunno.

Apparently some people are reporting that they've gotten a free bump to 1 day shipping by Amazon. It's probably a glitch and won't happen to me, but I can dream. Good to know it actually exists though.
Just received my copy and I'm pretty impressed with the artbook. Most artbooks that come with videogames are trash, but the design, print, and paper quality for this one is really good. Almost as if they'd took the real japanese artbook and compacted it into a dvd-boxed size version.

The Pillow case (and other various goodies) is from the Collectors Edition of the game.

To get back on topic though, this game is helluva fun. Probably my favorite in the genre since Gradius V.
