well, here's that part of the conversation anyway.

Sadly, I have no money for the trades yet, so I have to live with digital versions of them all. But i shall buy them all, oh yes, because I believe that good comics making should be rewarded.

I think your just being paranoid.

I'm sure the people at Forbidden Planet would drop the price to a competetive rate if you showed them the Amazon price. After all they are reasonable people who run a very efficient enterprise, and their personal hygeine is of excellent standards.

The best parts of Spiderman (teen hero starting out), mixed with the best parts of Claremont's X-Run (simmering long-term subplots, huge and great cast of supporting characters) mixed with some of the best parts of Superman and superheroes in general (superhero dealing with life and amazing powers among ordinary humans and fellow heroes).

Plus, it's got Kirkman's own fantastic sense of humor and dialogue over it all, and a dynamic, simple-yet-effective art style, with some of the best use of color in comics.

Hey dudes, I saw a trade for Marvel Team-Up - Spider-man and Invincible.

It's written by Kirkman, so I'm confident in it, but I've been short on cash lately so anyone want to tell me if it's any good?

Well, that trade only has one issue in it dedicated to the Invincible/Spider-Man team-up, but the rest of it has the League of Losers arc, with such fan favorites as Gravity, Speedball, Darkhawk, Dagger, and Terror Inc starring in it. So yeah, it's awesome. Go buy it now.

Also, the newest trade of Invincible comes out this week. I am all sorts of pumped the fuck up for it.

Issue 3 - [spoiler:f76b5dbec2]Bill and Ted[/spoiler:f76b5dbec2] are in the background of the school.

That's an immediate win on every level.

(That's not a spoiler in any real sense - but if Keith's reading it tonight he can see if he notices them first.)

And in the first issue they reference [spoiler:f76b5dbec2]Ferris Bueller's Day Off[/spoiler:f76b5dbec2]

Also, the "Aquaman" scene was lol funny.[/spoiler:e0a0e4fa0f]

    More references I've found:

Issue 2: Charlie Brown and a kid with a Red Son Superman shirt.

Well that depends on how much dough you have. It's nice and big - and awesome quality - but it is just a collection of however many trades had the first 13 episodes in (plus the extras from the trades).

I wouldn't bother (but now I've started I'm gona keep my collection in this form - despite the wait) - but I'm cheap so I would rather have new comics than different versions of the same ones.

You could always sell your tba's towards it.

I might chuck up some photos later if your lucky.

That was kind of what I was expecting. In that case, then, I think I'll stick with the TPBs, but only because I'm able to get the issues quicker than if I were to wait for the Ultimate Collection each time. Although, I'm tempted. . . if you decide to issue out a few images, then I'd love to see the difference. Thanks.

    Jordyn!!

So anyhow - I'm geeking up my girlfriend - first buy selling her my old nintendo DS (I normally role G&T), which she loves. And I'm thinking I may lend her invincible. The fact that Ultimate Collection 2 is introduced by the co-creator of Lost should get her interested at least.

Or would you recommend anything else? What with your vagina and all? The fact that invincible is a self-contained universe and needs no priors (except for the in-jokes) means I think she may dig it...

Or other people here with vag experience...

Sweet - comics are made for travelling.

I spent 6 hours alone walking around SFO from 2 till 8am - it was the most painful time of my life. And it was between two 10 hour journeys. erg.

I would have killed for a comic shop - but San Fransico doesn't understand what the fuck a 24 hour airport entails and closed all it's fucking shops.

    Hey Lave.

If you want your girlfriend to start reading Invincible, definitely try to have her read the first Ultimate edition first. It just contains some really important story stuff, and is sure to get her hooked anyway.

As for other comics, might I suggest Y: The Last Man? We got Fram's sister reading it and now she wants all the trades.

If you want to get her into more DC stuff, I could help with that too.
