RMS is right. Although you may have missed that we are having a referendum on changing the electoral system.

Yes, that is right. NZ is honestly voting about that and we may stop being proportional. A bunch of jerks want us to return to the old FPP system that the UK still uses for General Elections

Me: hey awesome video of detroit in the 80's
Her: That's pretty cool, but I'm trying to learn settlers of catan over here
    Me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZEdDMQZaCU&feature=related
Her: ok then you should come over here and fuck me
Me: I don't know, that would take a couple of hours and I have work in the morning
Her: I'll make it worth it if you give me those few hours
Me: Wait are we still talking about settlers of catan?

I was talking with a man who came from the Republic of Ireland, and he reckons what's unique to Northern Irish culture is our knack for self-depreciation.

I suspect he has a point, for in my circle of friends we go on like

    "You're from Swatragh? Ugh"
"You're one to talk, you're from Galladuff!"
    "Hmm, good point."

You are also right - 52% in favour so far, which is good enough.

The referendum has two votes, first - keep/change, second - if change, which of the systems do you like: PV/AV, STV, FPTP and Supplementary Member (like AV+/MMP but far less proportional). FPP is winning the alternative. So if there is a second referendum in three years time, it would be MMP vs FPTP

His arguments is small parties have disproportionate influence, there are no single party governments, and that pre-electoral promises are meaningless because it can all be sacrificed in coalition negotiations.

Indeed. NZ had FPP for 70 years and a far more solid two party rule than say the UK or Canada does and it sure as hell didn't make NZ the land of butterflies and gold streets.

We have had 5 elections now under PR and we have had 5 strong governments that have ruled for the entire term without collapse. IN other words, just as stable and strong as under FPP. Anytime I ask a FPP voter back home exactly what kind of strong decisions do they think we've avoided in the last 15 years or so that FPP would have dealt with better they never have any idea, because it is a bullshit theory

Yeah I've never straight up boned anyone for multiple hours. But I've spent 45 mins to an hour boning plenty of times, and I've definitely done the whole foreplay and sex thing which was well over two hours

I guess when you have an averaged size donger it makes it easier, as opposed to you behemoth cocked beasts
