    Probably not, dude.

I'm kind of amused that you had to google the black keys to find out what that could possibly be named after

Was Escape From Butcher Bay less well-received than Assault on Dark Athena?

Because I'm having lots of little troubles with BB (which, incidentally, my brain insists expands to "Butcherblock" and/or "Blackburrow"), including: triggers, checkpoints, and the occasional psychic guard.

On the positive side, I was somewhat surprised to see conversation options, even if those don't appear well-developed. Gunplay works pretty well, but it almost feels like the bullets have an exceedingly long travel time.

It is fun. You are spared my machete-based rampage.

It is not surprising how little foreign policy comes up in the debates, given the sorry state of the economy. But the entire idea of Obama’s outreach/reset diplomacy is now starting to Carterize, circa 1979/80, and in part reflects the vast trillions borrowed of the last three years that sent the debt to $16 trillion and weakened the U.S. presence abroad.

    ...

A new Asian direction is loudly announced, but by what means and for what purposes are left unsaid — as is the reality that a broke and unraveling EU, an ever more impotent NATO, and growing German pride and regional fear of German pride, make the original American postwar commitment there more important than at any time since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

That was Something I Read Today In Mainstream American Conservative Media.

    Wut.

There are words there, but they somehow fail to have any meaning at all

To be fair the recent offensive against Gadaffi did highlight some problems with the European allies NATO commitments - weren't there munitions shortages in England about half-way through?

If we're going to depend on air power fine, but I would think keeping up-to-date and stocked munitions for said air-power should be somewhat more important.

On the other hand, when the US military spends most of it's time hanging around in the Gulf Strait I suppose it's not like you ever really have to worry that the world's largest airforce will be far away.

The next bit is the real wut bit

I read that as, "The Nazis are coming back, so everyone better be ready to fuel-up their Sherman tomorrow."

Which I'm sure I must be misinterpreting, because surely nobody is that crazy.
To be fair the recent offensive against Gadaffi did highlight some problems with the European allies NATO commitments - weren't there munitions shortages in England about half-way through?

Yes, but some munitions shortages in the UK because of the demands of running multiple campaigns doesn't somehow mean that NATO is now 'impotent'. :P

Well coming in to the lab has certainly done nothing to improve my overall mood about my writing or project.

This enterprise is more or less over now that I am writing things up, but it does raise the problematic issue of how to navigate the next few months.

It doesn't tend to happen at the hugemongouser of parties, but usually if it's something like 12-20 people most of the people will bring something to contribute and may not wrap it all up. I've got some REALLY old beer that I don't like that's been sitting in my fridge because someone brought it over and I wasn't really gonna drink it. Like Budweiser... not even bud light, regular budweiser in cans.
