I want to see this rather badly!

It appeals to me on basically every level imaginable.

Luckily, today it expands from 216 to 662 screens.

I also want to see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
    (And Tintin.)

And I just recently saw Sherlock Holmes 2.

Prior to all this the last two films I'd seen in theaters had been the final two Harry Potter films. Actually, maybe the final three. I really don't often go to the cinema to see films.

But suddenly, an explosion of films I not only want to see but specifically want to see on a projector screen/not wait for DVD release!

The most amusing moment (to me) may have been either intentional or accidental. It was the scene
where Peppy visits George in the hospital. As she's looking at him through the doorway, you can see a picture of President Calvin Coolidge on the wall over her shoulder. Also known as Silent Cal.

On the other hand, Coolidge left office in March 1929, so maybe the French crew accidentally put up a portrait of the president from 1927 when the film started instead of from some point around 1930. But given the way it's framed in focus and right over the shoulder, I prefer to think it's a silent visual gag.

I loved this movie. People give it crap for being a silent movie, but it's easily one of the top ten movies I've ever seen.

Yeah, apparently today it expands from mostly just arthouse screens into more general theaters. Winning three Golden Globes this week (including Best Picture - Musical or Comedy) probably spurred that.

    I really enjoyed this movie!

I also really thought if the plot was slightly different, it would have just made the best scary movie ever. The absence of sounds can be truly frightening. This is a minor spoiler about a scene not too far into the movie-
like when he has that dream you can only hear certain sounds and the girls multiply and everyone can make noise but him, ohmygosh that would be terrifying

A French secret agent, starring in novels that predate James Bond. The director of The Artist made two parody movies with it, starring The Artist's lead actor in both and the lead actress in one.
