No, it was based on something I learned in grad school. Actually, most of the uncomfortable conversations that I instigate come from stuff I learn in school.

Well, you guys have gained a regular listener from me. Your discussions were very involving and certainly talks about some of the bigger things GM's and Players can face.

Hey, Episode 4 has my Clone Wars F-Bomb mentioned! Who knew an f-bomb had such legs?
I blame the 24-hour news cycle....or something.
Edit: I totally agree in the context in which it was brought up. It was a great example of what the 4 nerds were talking about. I was the new guy guesting in a long established group/game and did something quite jarring that was very much not what the group was used to. So yeah, it can totally throw a session or a game for a loop.
Just wanted to let you guys know I've been listening to your episodes on my way to and from work. I'm loving the material so far, keep up the great work! Also, you recently touched on a topic that I always wonder how other GMs handle. I just started a campaign for some friends new and experienced in the table top scene. Had a little piece happend that was basically fluff. Needless to say, the players really read into it. I decided just to go along with it, I figured it couldn't hurt. Anyway, I enjoyed listening to a topic that I could relate to.
So, anyone who is listening to the podcast. Any topics we haven't discussed/debated that you'd like to hear us talk about?
I can't say we will talk about anything but we will take any topic ideas under advisement and get to it if there's enough strong dissenting opinions among the four (and any guest chairs we may have at the time) for good podcasting.
Its not a new topic, I see from your earlier post, but I missed episode 1 where you guys talked about Evil Campaigns and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on that. I ran a (suprise to me) evil campaign for 20 levels of awesome in 3.5e Eberron, but it was mostly shits, giggles and annoy the DM with "SEND MOAR PALADINS!". But we all had a blast and it ended in a suitably epic fashion and my players still talk about it, but I still have no idea if I did it "right".
So this really isn't a suggestion for a new topic so much as it is a request for the Nerds to somehow host the previous episodes that were removed due to bandwidth issues.
How about a topic on things to look for/be careful of/etc. when recruiting for new players?
Or a topic about technology at the table?
I'm also interesting in hearing (or even talking about) controlling rules lawyers as another player or as a GM and how to squash min-maxers before they even get started building their obscenely broken characters.

As a new player, I am interested in topics such as the best way to find games to play in and how best to fit into an already established group of players how are starting new campaigns. This happened twice to me and it ended badly both times.
I would love to hear about fitting new players into an existing campaign. Fitting completely opposite alignments in the same game would be great to hear your opinion on, i.e chaotic good vs chaotic evil in the same campaign. Technology at the table is another really good one.

I would like to see talk of your expectations of 5e and discuss what non-mainstream games you enjoy playing (indie games or anything home brew you have enjoyed.) Also I am with Dani on the Min-Maxing issue / Power Gamers. How did the gamers you grew up with affect your experiences with gaming online?

I know you're not old. I'm just being my usual young ungrateful whippersnapper self.
I know I have problems with using 'rails' and 'railroad' as a gaming terms, I brought it up during the railroading topic discussion.
Just two words that have very different meanings and/or connotations depending on the person.
I just want to find a different term for the usual guiding a GM does as part of running the game and leave those railroading to mean 'the gm mandating a path and not allowing the players to deviate from said path by any means.'

Yeah sorry if my last post seemed too.... directed.
Oh no that wasn't directed at you at all (if I'm understanding what you're saying). I just know now that Destroyah hates rails...so I must make it my goal to do everything I can to be ON rails just to piss him off.

Well, it's time to correct that.

Sounds like a story that the Internet needs to experience.
Unless it's just 'this one time, we tossed a Halfling and it was funny.'
Thinking about it, Dani didn't tell you guy a lot of her sadistic traits. My Warlock's shag-partner was... special too.
