Bendis is a good writer.
USM has been consistently good.

It is like getting mad at Mark Waid for writing Daredevil happy and care free. Sometimes characters should have a new direction tried out.
Except there are reasons why Waid writes Daredevil like that. Reasons that are mentioned and explained in the story.
99% of the time when Bendis changes someone's personality he doesn't explain shit and it's obvious that he just couldn't be fucking bothered to check what anyone else had been doing with that character somewhere else. And a lot of the time when Bendis does this the character in question is still active in some other book and Bendis straight-up ignores what's going on there because he only cares about the way he writes characters.
It's not malicious. Bendis doesn't actively go around writing characters differently just so other people's work will be ignored. He's just oblivious.
Also, everyone he writes in most books has the exact same personality. Not everyone is in the same mood, but it's the same god damned personality and it is so fucking wretched and tiresome.
Bendis is fucking awful most of the time. Not always, but the vast majority of the time? Yes. Bendis is just
I like a lot of writers. Hickman is my current favorite, but Bendis, Morrison, Kirkman, Pax, and Johns are my current favorites. They all have flaws, but they also can all tell one hell of a story.

Brubaker wrote a 50+ issue run on Cap that was pretty goddamn great and managed to follow up Bendis' Daredevil run with comparable quality.
