scanning large paper

i usually do my comics on a4 paper, this makes things hard since i can only fit so much on a page, so i want to move up to a larger paper size. althought one issue is that my scanner is only a4 size, so how would i go about scanning larger paper?

    I have always carefully scanned large format in sections, then stitch the scans together in Photoshop.
