Detective Britten was in a car accident, and either his wife or son died. Also, he either his wife or son survived! Screwy!
He flips between the two realities Everworld-style, by going to sleep. In one reality, his partner is Fez, who I guess can do serious roles? In both realities, his family is grieving. Makes for a super interesting dynamic!
I know a lot of us here have been anticipating this one for a while, as it's definitely one of the most creative TV premises ever.
It starts March 1st, after the NBC Thursday comedy block, but the first episode is up on Hulu right now! Watched it last night and lovedlovedloved it. By the end, I was just like "THIS SHOW."
As a dude who doesn't like police procedurals and thinks they are boring, static, plotless, parent TV, I fully endorse Awake and think you all should watch it so that I have someone to talk with.
Also, it will probably get cancelled too soon.

ed: I describe it as "Daybreak meets Lost" but I guess CSI + Fringe works too...sorta
if you watched the pilot you see they do a lot of things to make it REALLY EASY to tell which reality he's in
the main character basically interacts with two completely different casts dependent on which reality he's in, he solves two different cases, and most crucial the "wife reality" is colored very bright and the "son reality" is colored very dark i.e. wife reality is orange, son reality is blue
That's good.
I am worried for it because the show was created by the guy who came up with Lone Star. So I fear for its longevity.
Gonna add this to my rotation for sure.

Might try this one out. And heck, those both did a good job with 2 seasons.

Life is probably my favorite network TV show of the past 5 years.
I've seen that trailer a couple times before but Jesus Christ it is an amazing trailer.
Every single person I have showed it to has immediately wanted to watch the show.
