    I never saw the big deal with that music
    slow build up, kick into dramatic high gear at a moment of no particular importance, slow back down

    Well it relates to the fight itself:
    You are fighting the true form of the Japanese god of death and rebirth, so things kinda seem hopeless.

    Then a triumphant remix of Reach Out to the Truth pierces the grim tone of the song, showing that there is still some hope.

    the situations aren't really comparable here

    pokemon games have a fairly rigid release schedule

    early autumn in japan, early spring here
