Big jump this week as I really got back into running and YAYOG. Also went back to Primal last week (I kept slipping and got more disciplined) and finally found some good protein sources. And it paid off! :)

My body decided to reward my being sick over the weekend, missing a workout, and eating a box of thin mints in 2 days by losing 3 pounds. I'm sure I'll bump up a pound this week as my eating returns to normal, but it was nice to see that I didn't rubber-band up after an off weekend. 4 pounds to go by PAX, I think I'm in good shape to hit my goal pending a serious plateau or mental/physical collapse :)

I dunno if people are really sharing recipes and plans but I created a spreadsheet for it since I work 9-5 with 45 minute commute and thought it'd be impossible to implement this system until I did my research.
If anybody's interested I can flesh it out and post it, I have it on google docs.

I felt pretty light footed last night at floor hockey. I felt like I also had more stamina. Hopefully this is a sign that I am back on track. No more losses under 1.5 lbs please.

Floor hockey tomorrow and then weigh in Thursday. I am both excited and scared.

You can do whatever. I have no joined the Fitocracy group or whatever. I am just sticking to Weight Watchers and their online amazingness.

So, being a little drunk and texting a friend, I weighed myself tonight (when I am supposed to tomorrow/today morning). Says I lost 1.4 lbs. Hopefully after morning activities, it will tell me more for the OFFICIAL weigh in. GO TEAM! Better than the .2 lbs lost last week that is for sure.

    I might go for a walk/jog tomorrow.

I started my own little weight loss crusade the second week of January. I was at 317 lbs the morning of Saturday, January 14. This morning I weighed in at 277 to hit the 40 pound mark. Your Shape for the Kinect is a hell of a thing.

I just got my Fitocracy account (I also use the Lose It! app for Android to follow my overall caloric intake) and joined the group to help with the final push to PAX East and beyond.

  • Dgeorge318Dgeorge318 Registered User regular
@RealGone congrats! I agree Your Shape can really kick your butt and it totally dissolves any excuse not to exercise when playing video games. You got time to sit in front of the TV, you got time to put 30 minutes into exercise.

I also use LoseIt for my Android. So simply awesome. Good luck on the overall journey to being fit!

Unfortunately, gamers often think that fitness and gaming are mutually exclusive. We'll show you that not only can you achieve both, but people with the gamer mentality can actually be the fittest, sexiest people out there. Our panel consists of two WoW-nerds-turned-ripped, a Guinness Book of World Record gamer who deadlifts over 300 lbs, and Dance Central's superfit representative. Come learn about the newest revolution in fitness from this Fitocracy-sponsored panel!

Yeah, I was skeptical at the beginning, but I make sure to do 45-75 minute sessions four nights a week (Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday/Sunday, Gamertag is Gabriel Lan) and aim for the long form cardio classes. It's been just as good (or better) than a gym membership without having to, you know, pay for a gym membership.

I also augment the Xbox workout by playing super fast punk, prog and metal songs on Rock Band 3 Expert Pro Drums, which is also a great option for the musically inclined.

The bf and I decided that if we work out at least 4 times a week in the weeks leading up to PAX, we get to have a nice date night for his birthday and, of course, we'll feel better at PAX and get our butts into a routine!

I've been more motivated to go to the gym lately. Trying to keep him motivated and moving, too.

Joined the challenge on Fitocracy, thought I'd check things out on the PAX boards now that I'm registered to try to get in on the PokeCrawl. Hi everyone! I'm also a big fan of Nerd Fitness and their community.

Edit: I guess I should say more. I'm at a weight I'm happy with but I'm training to get stronger and have more endurance. I don't have concrete goals for PAX other than consistently exercising, though I have detailed numbers on what "consistent" means and grades associated with those numbers.

Ok, basic consensus seems to be competition isn't really necessary. It looks like we're back to Challenge Coins for (1) the highest percentage weight lost and (2) the #1 most points logged on Fitocracy.

As for meetups, I can't really make any plans for during PAX until I know when Omegathon rounds are. Hopefully will know somewhat soon. I'd like it to be at or around the Fitocracy panel, but I have a sneaking suspicion Round 1 will be happening around that time. Thursday afternoon would be ok

    Week 9: 4/05/12 (AT PAX!!!):

On track - 2 more pounds to go for my goal of 220 by PAX. Might as well start working towards 200 by end of year, which was my secondary goal :)

Running in my first 5K this weekend - my pace is about 30 minutes for that distance. Not bad for someone who couldn't run 5 minutes on a treadmill at 5.5 mph in January.

Ugh, gained back a bunch. Must be water retention from too much sodium over the week, I've kinda let my diet get away from me. Not anymore. 30 days till PAX, gonna make every day count.

Looks like I might be plateauing a bit. With only a month to go, I think I'm going to buckle down and add another day to my workout. Is it odd that the thing I miss the most is potatoes? More than cake, more than ice cream, and even more than pizza...

@TheAsianKnight Totally understand, since mine is to get rid of that 3! Stick with it!

    @Vttym That's awesome! Good luck in the 5k! /backpat

@BaconSandwich I've got the same problem with sodium. Have trouble keeping it below 2300mg/day. Don't know what works for you, but I'm going to try and cut as much processed food out as possible. And then promptly ruin it all during convention weekend...
